Cop shot dead, wife injured in an attack in IOK

Srinagar, March 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a special police officer (SPO) of Indian police was killed and his wife sustained injuries by unidentified attackers in Islamabad district on Thursday evening.

A police official said that unknown gunmen fired at Police (SPO) at his residence in Katsoo village of the district. He died on the spot, while his wife got injured.

Soon after the incident, Indian forces launched search operation in the area to nab the attackers.

Meanwhile, in another incident a 25-year-old Madrassa teacher was shot at by unknown gunmen at Khandaypora area of Kulgam district this evening. He was injured and shifted to hospital.

Srinagar, April 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian policeman was killed after he was fired upon by unknown gunmen at his residence in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Sunday night.

A police officer said that the unknown gunmen opened fire upon the policeman namely Manzoor Ahmad Dar at Hiller village at around 9:35 pm. Policeman was at home when the attack took place.

Reportedly the policeman was brought to nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, eight Indian soldiers including a Junior Commission Officer (JCO) were killed in an attack during an ongoing military operation in Kupwara district.

India’s Defence Ministry Spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia in a statement in Srinagar confirmed the killings and injuries to several others.

The operation was launched initially by Indian army’s 8 JAT on Wednesday.

Besides, the cordon and search operations continued along Awaoora, Kumkadi, Zurhuma, Safawali, Batpora and Haihama areas of the district by the joint team of Indian Army’s 41 Rashtriya Rifles, 57 Rashtriya Rifles, 160 TA and Special Operation Group Kupwara. KMS-1K
