Aren't Turks supposed to defend their president from insults? That's the law in Turkey, right?

The man was prosecuted based off of German law not Turkish; even if he had insulted Putin; he would have been facing the same consequences.

These fools wait and pounce on any attempt they see to bash Erdogan and Turkey.
