Around a million people of Pakistani origin live in the UK and now, despite the distance, they will be allowed to vote in Pakistan's elections.
The government in Islamabad says it is rewarding their contribution to its economy.
Aleem Maqbool reports from Mirpur, a town in the north east of the country, known as 'Little Britain'.
Should or could have a significant effect as I read that PPP only got about 3 million votes and ending up as ruling party. Perhaps we in UK should start paying more attention and vote en block
