All are noble goals for sure, but may I please ask what are the ideas on how to IMPLEMENT these goals, and how they would be financed?

People who are so persistent about revolt , nothing can be a bigger revolt than one through the ballot box

Pakistan does not need a revolution
February 24, 2011

This spirit of revolt witnessed in Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain and Libya is being termed a new era of democracy, liberalisation and freedom. It is spreading like wildfire. Some people are asking whether this fire will ever reach Pakistan. One can only wonder what they are talking about.

The conditions that provoked the uprising in Tunisia are not at all identical to Pakistan. People here are discontented due to unemployment, poverty, inflation and widespread corruption. But in Pakistan we have a free press – the most free media in the Islamic world, a democratic government that works in fits and starts – but still works, and a country where everyone seems to have the chance to abuse our leaders on a daily basis. :D:pakistan:

The general public is of the opinion that instead of resolving public issues the elected representatives are busy securing their seats or making deals with their coalition partners in order to remain in power. But at least they can say it. In countries like Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, they would be picked up soon after and nothing would be heard about them after that.

That is why, possibly with all the repression in these states, a single incident triggered an uproar, pushing people off the edge and on to the streets. In Pakistan we are a more happy-go-lucky bunch.

Take Pakistan’s cricket team for instance. They are known to be unpredictable and have many a time won a match against all odds. The same can be said about the people of Pakistan. :pakistan:

We do not need the same level of protests to achieve the same results as in Tunisia. We have suffered a lot at the hands of our rulers, especially our dictators. The young men and women we see in Pakistan today were born in the Zia years. They have seen the good and the bad.

Libya is in a state of complete dictatorship and had no outlet for expression. That is why it exploded. We do not need a revolution in Pakistan. Here changes are coming gradually, but we are far ahead than most Muslim states.

Agree brother, we don't need revolution, if we take this government down and have midterms we will end up with Nawaz who is no different to Zardari. We should wait until 2013 and hopefully PTI can win the election.

This event is suspicous, the creator of the group lives in the UK and won't be attending protest himself, The link below shows a page which exposes this event.

Marine, you are a favorite and I enjoy reading you but I find I cannot agree with you in this instance - see, this stuff is not about shouting abuses at someone in government --- really, I think it's about being serious about wanting the government or the state to actually deliver - for the country to actually be run like a country, to have guiding ideas that are guiding ideas, not empty slogans --- look, did any so called super Muslims run any of these revolts?, who there was cheering for AQ and the Wahabis? Instead they wanted to be seen as citizens, not as Muslim or Christians, not as shiah or Sunni or anything else -- in Tunisia, a demand for a life of dignity, sparked the same in Egypt -- lives of dignity.

In Pakistan, I think the notion that one can actually have or rather build lives of dignity is a "alien" concept - even the Arabia of the Saud family finds itself in a position where it bribes it's own population with success -- think about the ethics and morality of a society that accepts bribes - that's where I think Pakistan are and may still be there even with the passage of fifteen to twenty years - I fear "desperate" solutions.

Anyway back to topic : Pakistan cannot have revolution like Egypt because
1) Illiterate Jahil Qoom.
2) Most of the middle class and upper class is corrupted.
3) People are radicalized so any such revolution will be over taken by Jihadhis.
4) Pakistanis just don't have intellectual capacity to stage such a revolution.Pakistanis will probably end up raping women, stealing stuff etc.
5) Delusional People who think Pakistan should become radicalized and all Muslim countries are our brother and sisters. They probably never read anything other then our education system Pak/Social Studies.
Besides, a true revolution is impossible as there is no specific ideology for which Pakistanis will march for. This may sound harsh and i may look unpatriotic but i made these observations in Pakistan.

Looks like an uber idiot's commentary about pakistan.
1. Just because you had enough money and got the chance to get education, doesnt give you the right to bash pakistani people infront of all these outsiders.
2. The only corrupt group are the elite class. Who doesnt give a rat's about what's going on in Pakistan and are just busy enjoying luxurious lives. And are most of the drunk and when they are, they start saying things about other poor people of pakistan.
3. Revolution is actually the other name of radicalization. If huge changes aren't brought, then its not a revolution.
4. The people of Iran had zero intellectual capacity. Yet they brought the best revolution in their country. A revolution that changed everything forever, made them so powerful that they aren't even scared of America now, unlike us. So powerful that no outsider manipulates their actions.
5. These delusions are not there because they are Pakistani, but because they are Muslims. The religion encourages this thing to great extent. Why is it bad to wish to see it happen? If we ever get any chance at all, that is.
Pakistani people do have the same idealogy they had 63, 64 years ago. One muslim country which has Islam as its foundation. And inshALLAH, the dawn will soon rise when this country will finally see peace and will have enough will power to tell the manipulators to go to hell.

Can you verify that the Iranians had zero intellectual capacity? Thats one big sweeping statement about a people that have historically accomplished a lot of great things.

And what makes their revolution 'the best'? because it has the label of being an Islamic revolution? From what i see their 'revolution' has messed them up. The people are repressed, their economy is in tatters and they have made a lot of enemies. As for them being 'powerful', by that definition you would put Cuba as one of the most powerful countries on the planet, after all, the 'great satan' cant tell them what to do.
