Cops in America are different than other industrialized nations. I do occasionally interact with tourists from Europe, I do advise them the police here are not like in Europe where some don't even carry firearm on them. Complying with police is the best way to deal with them even if the cops sounds unreasonable.

Police face threats here in U.S much different than anywhere else.

Thank you for clarifying that...Mind you cops here do carry a baton but there are really strict laws of when they are actually allowed to use it! Because if they misuse it they will be prosecuted and hence, it may sound sisy they usually only scare you or give a warning they will use force...

But the poor guy was deaf he heard no warning...Even the FBI are asked to announce before breaking down a door and read the rights...if neither is done they are laws by which they can be prosecuted ...all this is to make sure no one actually misuse their power...

But under no law do you kick or use your fists and feet to instill pain on the one you caught!

There is a case where a person under diabetic shock got tased by cops for failure to comply !!

A man was found in a pick-up truck that was parked on a road blocking traffic. Police thought he was under the influence of alcohol ( drunk) or some other substance as he was non-responsive to them !! They tased him as he was non-responsive to their commands.

Once they read the tag on him that he is diabetic and prone to black out from a diabetic shock they provided him with necessary help.

Yes, it seems that the Police go around tasing people on the streets in the evil USA just for the fun of it, all the time. Or not.

I don't think they enjoy tasing people, they are trained to bring a situation under their control as soon as possible as in this case to clear the roadway safely to public. There are tens of thousands of police interaction with citizens everyday, you are going to get a case like this every now and then.

I am not saying there are no ill tempered, cowboy or simply bad cop out there, but most discharge their duties as they are trained to do so.

If the deaf man wins the case that he is suing against the police. The compensation will be in millions of dollars usually. So it makes sense to train them on it.

Of course. If there is any wrongdoing proven, the aggrieved party will get justice, and the training will be improved to prevent any similar recurrences.

That is the beauty of a system that is not perfect, but seeks to improve itself wherever possible.
