And that because of US pressure that Indonesia lost Timor Leste province

I respect other Indonesian opinion about China on both extreme like @striver44 and also @antonius123 in the other extreme while @nufix and me are in between. And I also still have friendly attitude with Chinese members here and my point of view about SCS is that Indonesian and China can some how manage its differences just like what we are still seeing Today.

And Indonesia should put more R&D on defense industry instead of buying imported products as USA will keep the balance until the next 20 years. After USA is out of SCS due to economic decline and China rise, Indonesia should be able to withstand China influence in South East Asia, militarily and politically, with other SEA fellow while keep being friendly to China (avoid any military conflict). If Indonesia can keep growing 5-6 percent until 24 years from now inshaALLAH, it means Indonesia GDP will likely to reach 6 trillion USD.

I think this economic power is quite enough to deter possible aggressive intention by China future leadership, particularly if Indonesia can have good defense industry, thus our huge defense spending can still supportive for our economy. Possible Indonesia and China warmer relation could also highly possible in the future.
