SEOUL, Jan. 12 (Yonhap) -- National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo was to leave on a trip to Vietnam and Indonesia on Thursday to discuss expanding economic and security cooperation with the countries, Kim's office said.
Kim plans to first visit Hanoi to meet with Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other top government officials, as well as his Vietnamese counterpart, to discuss improving the bilateral ties between the countries in various areas from finance and construction to the arms industry.
While in Vietnam, Kim also plans to attend a ceremony celebrating the construction completion of Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology and work on promoting South Korea's bid for the 2030 World Expo.
On Wednesday, Kim will travel to Jakarta to meet with Indonesia's top parliamentary officials, and discuss advancing cooperation in resource development and the arms industry.
Kim also plans to share South Korea's experience in building an administrative city in Sejong, about 120 kilometers south of Seoul, with Indonesia and discuss expanding Korean firms' activities in the Southeast Asian country.
Indonesia plans to move its capital from Jakarta on the island of Java to a new location in East Kalimantan on the neighboring island of Borneo.
Kim will return home on Jan. 20.

Based on the latest information from DAPA Korea, KF 21 test flight can be completed in February 2026. It means the program block 1 completion could be potentially reached in first quarter of 2026 (beginning of 2026). That is also the time the plane should get Type Certificate that will allow the plane to be mass produced and enter jet fighter market.

He met with Jokowi and Puan Maharani (Indonesia Parliament Speaker). Puan Maharani gave explanation on the video, and South Korean Parliament Speaker will meet Puan again in Parliament building Tomorrow.
The meeting Today with Jokowi is in Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport VVIP building. Halim Airport is owned by Air Force. State visit usually use Halim Airport/Air Force base located in East Jakarta.

Building double seats of KFX/IFX prototype is due to Indonesian needs, so many positive things come from our Indonesia participation despite we dont pay our financial contribution since late Jokowi first term (just paid it again since last year).
Having double seats will also help the sales since it will make the training easier.
I also still remember when Korea is about to approve single engine design from KAI within 2014 and throw out more ambitious double engine design made by ADD Korea and Indonesian Aerospace engineer (technology development phase 2011-2012). I still have the news made by Jane saying they are about to approve this below single engine design. Indonesia participation helps the more ambitious double engine design to be approved and become the base design (C 103) that later refined into C 109.

Indonesian Airospace I believe will start producing KF21 from its block 2 configuration. Block 2 configuration development will be completed in 2028 inshaAllah base on schedule.
Indonesian Aerospace is not just starting producing KF21 once its get Type Certificate inshaAllah. There is program called tech readiness that should be conducted in Indonesia before production commence, this program needs some fund, more like internal R&D. There it means the production will likely be delayed, same thing will likely happen in KAI Aerospace, they also needs some time before starting their mass production phase.
Both Indonesian Aerospace and KAI Aerospace will likely complete its mass production preparation in 2028 where it is the time KF21 block 2 configuration will be completed inshaAllah.
