Indo-Chinese relations important for growth: Chinese daily

Our primary focus should be to restore trade balance which got skewed against us for economic mismanagement.

When a country is building up a national manufacturing base, they need to import a lot of capital goods in order to increase their overall production/output.

So in this scenario, a large trade deficit is unavoidable in the short-term. But in the long-term it should turn into a trade surplus.

The problem here... is that the vast majority of India's trade deficit is due to importing oil/gold and consumer goods, not capital goods in the required amount to build a national manufacturing base.

Even a country like China today, with the world's largest manufacturing base, we ordered tens of thousands of industrial robots this year alone.

Luckily, we are at a stage where we can produce the required capital goods domestically, and we even export them in huge numbers.

We are coming to buy AP

AP.... in case you are asking for Arunachal pradesh... then first go on purchase Taiwan and smaller islands which are more dearer to you....

@ Situations change fast.... Now America and India are continuosly fighting over trade barriers while India China are talking about cooperation

. . .
First buy Taiwan then we will speak......
May be THEN you can buy whole of India.. HA HA

We know Taiwan inside out, low risk, low return.
We prefer high return investment, even if risk is higher. AP will be a good a barometer for further business opportunity.

Thats what I am saying first buy Taiwan...

Our politicians are ready to sell India..so just show them you have bought Taiwan, politicians will be ready with deal...

Just that we will NOT sell telecom, ship building and armed forces.... rest you can buy and develop our lands, infrastructure, canals and industries... You are most welcome....

We do have plan to buy India, but it would be too huge a project at one go. That's why it's imperative that we buy AP first, for a start.

Don't worry about taiwan, we might not have to pay for it.

The Congress party has already rejected so many offers of Chinese investment, despite India's desperate need for infrastructure.
chinese Investments are not safe.....so, cannot be trusted in sensitive field.....
otherwise its welcome move.....

That's the question, IF.

The Congress party has already rejected so many offers of Chinese investment, despite India's desperate need for infrastructure.

They are willing to cut themselves just to spite us, because they know we need more places in which to invest our massive reserves.

This will only change if Modi is elected, I think. He is much more pro-business and pro-investment.

Rest assured it is not to spite you, they are not competent enough to think that far.
The term used is "policy paralysis". A synonym for Indian-democracy.

Anyways, some are working hard to get the Chinese investment. Finally a positive outlook.
Without singling out Chinese investment, the department has recommended in its final Cabinet note that the proposed committee vet all FDI proposals. The move comes after the home ministry had pointed out that FDI from China in railways might pose a danger to national security and Chinese investments should not be allowed in border areas such as Jammu & Kashmir and northeastern states.

"The security concerns raised are valid. We have addressed them to the best of our ability and asked for an internal core committee to look at all investment proposals, rather than singling out Chinese investment," said a senior DIPP official, who did not wish to be named. "It should likely be taken up next week by the Cabinet," he added.

If you don't want investment in sensitive sectors, then don't take investment in sensitive sectors? It's not rocket science, every country restricts foreign investment into their sensitive sectors.

lol you are saying as if u are doing it for free, you'll get massive return on it and that's why u are investing. Not for any social work.

On topic as dem!god said we welcome investment except in sensitive sectors.

I cannot see your confidence!

Had it been that needy we wouldn't have rejected earlier there are 'Developed' nations too. For example: Japan, they've invested here on large scale basis and have got good return. Hope you got it.

Irrelevant. India needs it more than China.
