India’s foot-dragging caused utter failure in Iran’s Chabahar

Risk benefit. There is absolutely zero benefit in risking US sanctions and importing oil. And don't want our corporations to end up like Huawei.
lmfao!

from we have our independent foreign policy and we will do what we desire to why risk US sanctions!

man banya you have been analed bad by everyone from every side!

US specifically sanctioned oil trade. The whole point of sanctions is to hurt you economically and you're not going to earn billions exporting electricity to a war torn country. And no, US is our largest export partner, at the end of the day, we have our economy to worry about.
At the end of the day, Americans learnt imposing their will on India is cheap even if it's against India's interest. this is how slavery was born, how great India became a colony to few Anglo Saxons, and apparently is becoming again, poor Mahatma Gandhi!

Call it whatever you want, I have already clarified, our business interest does not allow going against the US interest right now. Would you go against say Chinese interest now? Raise Uyghur issue with the Chinese, let Ayatollas utter a single word about it through his famous tweet as he does with regards to Kashmir. You engage in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine to save Muslims, but when it comes to the Chinese the Ghazis eat superglue and stay mum. So, no, you don't get to raise the Gandhi flag, we have our own citizens to worry about before thinking about saving other countries at our own peril.

We would want to have a really good relationship with Iran, import oil improve economic and industrial cooperation, but not at the risk of damaging our economy.

We would want to have a really good relationship with Iran, to push proxies in a tricky province for both Iran and Pakistan, which'll destabilize the region- with an economic front of course

Meanwhile China just does proper business, which is good or bad depending on how you look at it

Meanwhile China just does proper business, and they are very nice people for now, because they're bankrolling us. Which is good or bad depending on how you look at it.
India too does proper business, we are not a certain country that mix emotion in diplomacy. That's how we run, having relationships with Arab and Israel, Russia, the US, and every other country out there that don't work against our interest.

Iran should engage with Taliban in Afghanistan. If you can get peace in Afghanistan then the Afghans and the other central Asian countries might be interested in using your ports, rather than just Gwadar. If the Afghans have any sense, they certainly won't want to rely solely on Pakistan to access to the sea.

Uyghurs issue is ignited by US, and interestingly their leaders have close ties with anti Iranian MKO terrorist group which Iranians hate to the bone. in our view, they are just another ISIS. of course, western media depict terrorists as freedom fighters, but at least we Iranians have more than enough reason to not only don't back them, but to be against them.

Those Indians whose country became a colony had the same mentality as you. resistance has its costs, but surrendering is even more costly. study your own history!

India assumed that America and its puppet government will stay in Afghanistan for ever. There is no other justification to even contemplate ideas of "bypassing" Pakistan to reach Afghanistan.

Yeah, your resistance. You picked a fight with the US, we didn't. How can you expect others to fight for you?

Yeah we have our own resistance, we shredded Americans fantasies of new middle east map. but I'm talking about your weak resistance. it was your subcontinent which became a colony, rubbed and looted and finally divided in a fine plot. And you still talk about the benefits of giving in!!!

Yes, Iran didn't export it's oil to India, but India couldn't export its gasoline and rice to Iran as well, it's India's investment in Chabahar which is in jeopardy today, and be sure, Americans wont thank you.

they have been a brother country for 50,60 damn years! ,

and for majority of these years China was dirt poor, our trade volume barely crossed a billion some years ago and CPEC started in 2016 or something

but we were very close friends for 50, 60 years, so this bankrolling is such a stupid way to describe a consistently friendly relationship lasting for decades

It's not really foot-dragging. It is just their normal speed.
loool
Most chinese companies have state backing and a 3trillion reserve made from sir plus trade, meanwhile the largest refinery in India is privately owned unlike Chinese oil giants. Forget India, why your next door neighbor does not import a drop of oil or petrol from you? Your oils are at the risk of being captured from open sea by US troops. I don't understand why some Iranians think India should risk US sanctions.
I agree with you. every country looks at their bigger interests overall. The US is far more important for India(be it economically, diplomatically, politically or trade wise) for India than Iran can ever be. So obviously it makes sense for India to be cautious towards ties with Iran and risk US sanctions. The gains doesn't make up for the huge loss, so any normal/pragmatic government would have done the same

India tried to isolate Pakistan and ends up getting isolation from Russia, Iran and Afghanistan.

Your statement is true ..every country looks after their own interest..a small low mass country would have no choice but to take the side of the US with no reservations. But for a country the size of India and her colonial struggles it is hard to understand that they had no choice but to accept American dictates to such a level that brought their trade with their historical trade partner iran to zero....but it is all water under the bridge...both sides know where they stand now and life goes on..

I said this exactly back in 2016 in this forum. At that time Indians were doing Bolly dancing with Iranians and sing Chah Bahar songs. The fact was India was desperate to join American and Israeli oribit. Exactly how was that possible by emracing Iran? It did not need a genius when push would come to shove Iran would be dumpled.

And it was!
