India’s first Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle being tested

the guy mentioned about the ballistic missile ONLY, please read hi post again and you asked the proof of BM. I gave you. Over and Out!

Learn to read properly.

We already have Hypersonic missile in our arsenal flying at Mach 7.5 since a long time.

Now where in that sentence do you read the word ballistic missile?

dude read the artical!! and stop commenting without reading it.

Prove that it never leaves the atmosphere.

It hardly takes an altitude of 40 Kms to cruise in on the target. Now, u may google my claim and find it yourself on how authentic it is.

Precisely, again Indian try to BS into their way and claim on par technology with others.

I cant find any authentic source. Or probably you are going to use some wiki edit by Indians to prove your point?

Most ballistic missile is hypersonic. The thing is Indian try to BS and paint a ballistic missile as hypersonic glider/vehicle.

What would constitute proof to you and @ice bomb?

Because a tried, tested and inducted missile with quotes from the Defense ministers scientific adviser regarding its capabilities is clearly not enough.

A ballistics missile by definition follows a ballistic trajectory (look up what that is if you don't know) and hence by definition the shourya cannot be a ballistic missile. It's a shaped trajectory hybrid. Close to impossible to intercept or defend against. The only real problem is it short range ~900km for it's full payload.

You are right. Mostly all ballistic missiles are Hypersonic, but only in their terminal phase which Makes Shaurya different.

Shaurya on the other hand Maintains the velocity of over Mach Six through out its flight.

India successfully test fires Shaurya missile - Times Of India

NEW DELHI: In a significant step towards boosting ''second-strike'' capabilities, India on Wednesday tested a new 600-km range 'Shaurya' ballistic missile, which can fired from underground silos unlike the Prithvi and Agni missiles.

Here after seeing Mr Blue hairy fur ball,I suddenly remember a famous quotation. It is as follows

When was the statement made. Links?

Indian are mixing up with a ballistic missile as a hypersonic vehicle/glider.. LOL.

Now top DRDO scientists have revealed that the Shaurya is not a ballistic missile, as it has been thought to be; it is actually a hypersonic cruise missile, which never leaves the atmosphere.

Lol at your ignorance dude. Its the developers of this missile who claims so and if you are not taking them authentic, so be it. We have no intention to prove you right or wrong here.

The Shaurya is a shaped trajectory hypersonic missile. It is in a category of it's own, it's clearly not a ballistic missile, but a 20-30m CEP isn't accurate enough to be a decent cruise missile. I would say it would be used to target large infrastructure/groups of enemy slow-movers, etc.

I say kudos to you and the other Indian posters here. You guys are doing a good job of representing your country on an international fora, can't say the same for those two.

Tsk tsk. You are mistaken sloppy indian journalisme for real facts.

The missile rose on the dot at 2.30 p.m. from a canister strapped on to the ground, climbed to an altitude of 40 km and sped at 7.5 Mach, that is, 7.5 times the speed of sound. It covered its full range of 700 km in 500 seconds.

That poor soul just divided the distance with the duration and come up with the 7,5 mark. Read it more carefully.

Shourya is the land-variant of India's K-15 missile which is launched under the water and is being fitted into the Navy's nuclear-powered submarine, Arihant.

k-15 is a ballistic missile.

The inside story of SLBM K-15 » Indian Defence Review

The 27th Jan test-firing saw the K-15’s first-stage solid-fuel rocket booster being ignited inside a pontoon-based silo 20 metres under water & being lifted up to an altitude of 7km. Then the second-stage solid-fuel rocket ignited & lifted the K-15/B-05 to an altitude of 40km, following which the K-15 adopted a depressed trajectory flight-path.

Same altitude as shourya, coincidence? only if you are an indian fanboy.

Then comes this part.

The missile is ten metres long, 74 cm in diameter and weighs 6.2 tonnes. Its two stages use solid propellants.

A cruise missile? no freaking way. It is a ballistic missile.

Says the guy who left this part out just before the quotation of the "unnamed top scientist"

Shortly before the Defexpo 2010, Dr Saraswat had publicly stated that India’s missile technology was ahead of China’s and Pakistan’s.

Now top DRDO scientists have revealed that the Shaurya is not a ballistic missile, as it has been thought to be; it is actually a hypersonic cruise missile, which never leaves the atmosphere.

Shows how much credibility they have. muhahahahhaha. Have fun

Circular logic.

The K-15 is an acknowledged derivative of the Shaurya (IIRC).

and buddy, 700km in 500 seconds is 5833.33333 km/h, nowhere near mach 7.5. You need to go back to maths class. I wager that mach 7.5 is it's maximum speed, it's likely far, far slower on it's ascent to it's 40000m altitude.
