What's new

India's election has left the country more divided than ever

India more divided? After 1971 this is the first time a single political party has had such a big majority in polls. This is not possible unless the majority of Indians voted for Modi.

It also gives Modi unprecedented power to take strong decisions without pleasing any allies.
Actually it is 1984. Rajiv Gandhi won 414 seats.

Can you translate what they say in English?
No i can not, this is a dead language for us, it was brought by our forefathers when they came to Assam like they brought their own traditions and religion.

Since the last few centuries, we have adopted the Hindu way of life due to the efforts of Srimanta Sankardev and our language and script too has changed to Assamese. It was necessary because Assam alone had more tribes than China and most of them had their own language. So we needed a common language in which we can all interact. Since the 16th century the use of our language almost ended, with the few members of the priestly class keeping the tradition.

Same is the case with the Nagas, there are about 2 dozens Naga tribes, each have their own languages, so they neeeded a creole language like Nagamese in which they could converse.

This is the Assamese language in which we speak and converese.

If you want i can translate this or anything in Assamese for you. But there are some groups like the Bodos in Assam who speak and write in their own language till date.

What a fvcking clown. India is more united than ever.

I have Chinese roots:rofl: No seriously, my tribe settled in Assam 800 years back from the Chinese province of Yunnan:p:
You'd be lucky if you had it. But your intelligence is showing otherwise. Perhaps because of the mixing of Indian genes. :D
You may not know it, but Assamese wasn't originally our language, we had our own religion, script and language. Try harder!

Says a random guy posing as a Chinese, i bet you are acquainted with many Nagas, Mizos and Arunachalis too.
I don't need to pretend to be Chinese. I am Chinese. Pure bred.
I had friends as students from the North East and they hate your mainland Indian guts. That's the raw truth. You know I am not bullshitting because even you know it's the truth.
Also, there maybe or may not be any north east members in the forum. But I can guarantee the majority of them don't like Indians.

This is rich !

Someone from an totalitarian nation talking of a referendum !

Since charity begins from home, how about trying one in Hong Kong for a start
Use your brains again and think before you post. Your words not mine "Someone from an totalitarian nation talking of a referendum !"
Now why the fk would we as a Totalitarian nation ask for a referendum?
India is proud of its democracy, maybe its time to show the world what India is and how free and democratic is? Isn't it?
Do you even think before you post Mr IQ 82?

Funny thing is India actually promised to UN to hold a referendum in Kashmir. But now it doesnt offering pakistan not vacating Kashmir as excuse. So much commitment from Indian state to democracy.
And India simply occupied Goa. Look at the restraint of china - it waited patiently for Hong Kong despite it could have easily occupied hiding under anti-colonial rhetoric. Even after HK passed over it accepted conditions which allow HK to keep its system for another length years.

The term mainland is no longer in vogue these days. What convoluted logic you are displaying, are you trying hard to be this dumb or is it inherent. I dislike a lot of things about the other parts of India as do other forumers from NE on PDF like halupridol, swnjo, hembo etc. But that doesn't mean that we will ask for a referendum and demand secession. Stop fantasizing these wet dreams.
Also, there maybe or may not be any north east members in the forum. But I can guarantee the majority of them don't like Indians.

Really? You have been there and talked to them?

Why on earth would we ask for such absurd things, we from North East are proud Indians. There are so many of us here on PDF from NE, have you found any of them supporting secession. It exists only in the deluded fantasies of your ilk.
I don't get what's there to be proud of being an indian, not anymore.

We don't demand secession now because after half a century of political struggle we are too tired and we just want to live our life peacefully with our ethnicity and traditions intact we don't want any kind of trouble in the region .

I agree, this in-fighting amongst ourselves and with others have brought us nothing but misery. And we should be wary of the foreign elements that seek to foment trouble in NE.

Yes! I swear on my mother's grave.

Whatever floats your boat. I am just too tired to talk about North East anymore. It's not my concern. Whether you're a North East as you claim to be, I don't care anymore. It's India's problem and not China's. I'll let it be between North Eastern states of India and Indian mainland. But facts are facts.

the biggest foreign element being India itself.
