There are so many BS and embarrassments in this list, I don't know where to start with. :help:

Pick one and elaborate . Disprove if you can

No. 3 is just embarrassing. What you consider a movie for the cinema, most of them are at best classified as C-movie, not even suitable to make a DVD for sale. Even TV full feature movies in most European countries are more sophisticated.

No. 19 is BS, because Germany, China and some other European countries also built their indigenous super computers.

1. from wiki, the Bombay Stock Exchange has 5112 listings, not close to "more than 6000". And it is only the 14th largest in the world. Its tade value is 25 times less than Shanghai. Bombay Stock Exchange - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I don't want to waste time to check the others, and btw I happen to know that China is world largest tea producer (14), most of others are BS probably. And some of them should be viewed as embarassing facts, even if they are true.

.
There are so much things in this list that is just not right, out of date, twisted to make it to the top or just plain irellevent.

Not right
8. Six Indian ladies have won Miss Universe/Miss World titles over the past 10 years. No other country has won more than twice.
- In the last 11 years India won just one. And many countries has won more then twice.

11. Bank deposits in India roughly equal 50% of its GDP OE again, among the highest in the world.
- India savings are only about 35%. China is above 50%.

12. Indian Railways is the largest railway network in the world under single management
- No. Largest railway is US followed by China.

14. India is the largest producer and consumer of tea in the world, accounting for more than 30% of global production and 25% of consumption.
- No. China is the world largest producer and consumption of tea.

20. Indian Railways is the largest employer in the world, with a staff of 1.6 million people.
- No. US defence is largest employer. Indian railway is 8th largest behind PLA, Walmart, McDonald, CNPC, NHS (England).

29. The Indian city of Varanasi, also known as Benares, is the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the world today.
- Oldest in India but not the world. Varanasi goes back BC1200. There are so so many in the Middle East alone that goes back BC4000.

Way way out of date
19. Other than US and Japan, India is the only country to have built a super computer indigenously.
- Mayby 20 years ago ??? Today India has only 2 in the top 500.

18. India's Hero Honda is the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, with 2002 production of 1.7m units.
- 2002 is 10 years ago ! Today China is the world largest followed by Japan.

Irellevent
1. The number of companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, at more than 6,000, is second only to NYSE.
- In terms of capitalization Bombay is 12th. Shanghai is 5th.

3. With 800 movies per year, India's film industry overshadows Hollywood.
- Yet I do not know any India directors. Maybe one 1 actress in the Jackie Chan movie.

Great!!! have a look at this:

India's Slums Double In Size
Though the country has experienced an economic boom, the number of Indians living in slums has increased 100 percent in the last two decades.

"The number of people living in slums in India has more than doubled in the past two decades and now exceeds the entire population of Britain, the Indian Government has announced.

India’s slum-dwelling population had risen from 27.9 million in 1981 to 61.8 million in 2001, when the last census was done, Kumari Selja, the Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, said.

The figure is the latest illustration of how India’s recent economic boom has left behind millions of the country’s poorest people, raising fears that social unrest could undermine further growth."

"The expansion of India’s slums is partly due to the rise in India’s total population, which increased from 683 million in 1981 to 1.03 billion in 2001.

aaahaa  everyone in this world lives on the the same universe except some caged slaves who believes nothing but propaganda..

those caged slaves need to feel jealous about India and Indians not other way around :lol:

yet it is the indians posting "facts" about india that turned out to be mostly half truths and outright lies that are easily dispoven by a simple search that anyone can do on google.

to top it all off, a bunch of those achievement have either been done by the chinese already and done better or those achievements were chinese to begin with and misrepresented by indians as their own.

.
how many people realize that this project is a cheap Indian imitation of Intel and ASUS "One laptop per child" and $100 netbook programme for the poor countries.
