Indian Telecom Ministry bans all Chinese Deals and Equipment

Even western nations are reluctant to ban Chinese electronics, particularly in 5G, so their firms not at a competitive disadvantage, in the value added industries. For example, If the price of Indian pharmaceuticals (which are primarily genetics) goes up dramatically, many people will switch from them to another supplier.

And who are the other suppliers of generic formulations that can compete with India in terms of price, volume and quality for the regulated market (US and Europe in particular)?
China?
China deals with the non regulated and semi regulated markets including India for the most part.
This won’t affect Indian pharma exports. It will however makes pricing for domestic market higher as a result of the reliance on Chinsee API imports, but Indian pharma companies are large enough and mature enough to cater to indian market. Many will force their efforts inwards within India to capture the market now.

India pharma exports will remain competitive.

The Indian Telecom Ministry has ordered BSNL, MTNL and other private companies to ban all Chinese deals and equipment. They have been asked to avoid Chinese equipment in upgradation. The decision by the Telecom ministry could play a major role in the 4G upgradation purchases by its subsidiaries.

The govt service providers have been asked to change conditions in such a way that Chinese companies aren't able participate in the tender process. The companies have been asked to cancel all previous tenders for telecom equipment. Directives will also be issued for private mobile service providers to rule out use of any existing Chinese equipment, and ban any new purchase.

The move comes amid anger in the country after killing of 20 Indian soldiers at the LAC in Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh on Monday night. The relations between India and China have further soured after the incident this week. Anger has been simmering in the country ever since, with many calling for boycott of Chinese products and apps.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) called for boycott of Chinese goods, listing 450 imported items including cosmetics, bags, toys, furniture, footweara dn watches. The objective is to reduce the import of Chinese finished goods by $13 billion or about Rs 1 lakh crore by December 2021, CAIT said.

The Swadeshi Jagran Manch today demanded that Chinese companies be banned from participation in the tender process in the country. It also demanded the cancellation of the lowest bid made by China's Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co Ltd for the construction of an underground stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System project.

Earlier on Wednesday, India delivered a strong message to China that the "unprecedented" incident at the Galwan Valley will have a "serious impact" on the bilateral relationship. It also held the "premeditated" action by Chinese army directly responsible for the violence.

Dont keep deluding yourself, bro. Samsung have many kinds cheap phones, TCL TV in VN is as cheap as the one in CN. Same price for Panasonic, LG, Media , airpod stuff manufacturing in VN.

India should try to ban Xiaomi, Vivos phones first. Next will be TCL TV, Lenovo laptop manufacturing in CN.

We can ban all non-essential Chinese products and develop our own industries in the same fashion as South Korea.

And then find that all Chinese products are essential for India, you can try , buy from US instead of China.
No, everything is not essential.
We are happy to pay more to alternative suppliers than to support a backstabbing, virus spreading nation.
We will develop our own industries in 10 years. It will be a difficult and painful process but well worth the efforts.
Wait till covid-19 is over - a lot of business is going to move out of China because the world has seen your true face.

You've been saying this for at a decade already, those words become more pale against the reality with each passing day.

There is no Government order as of yet to ban any chinese firm or equipment. Lets wait for an official order, which i fear will never arrive. Just some TV news to calm the folks down a bit.

Lol on one hand they claim Chinese lost 40 soldiers and on the other they make silly stunts like these. If India was indeed able to inflict double damage, than why the pain and need to cancel deals from China which would be like peanuts for China anyway. This just shows their desperation.
