I've got the chance to work closely with IA and other related establishments. So i thought of sharing some of my views and experiences.

T-55: its a beginner's nightmare. The crew comfort offered is minimum. The interior is so cramped that you can't even move your hand freely. But with an experienced crew, she is great.
She is highly responsive to the
driver. Logistics isn't a problem regarding her. But her submersive capability is not impressive. If water enters
the cabin,it will sink in 30 secs or less. Currently she is being withdrawn but will be kept in reserve.

T-72: the current work horse of the IA. Several problems are associated with it. The main being the glitch in gear box. In some pieces, the gear
gets blocked when shots are fired. Therefore in most cases
the commander shouts 'fire' twice -one for the driver to apply clutch and other for the gunner to fire.

another problem of the t-72 is the uncommonality. Different pieces has different problems and behaviours. This is a reason for which
the upgrades are lagging.

the problems with the t-72 can be easily solved when it comes to an experienced tank crew. But in severe war scenarios it can be costly ie
If an existing crew is perished, then the replacement
Crew may face difficulty.

the t-72 also offers less crew comfort, but it is better than t-55. T-72 is logistic and maintenance friendly too.

t-90: T-90 purchase was a good decision, but it has affected the arjun adversely. A lot of pockets have been filled through this purchases.

Indian tanks gear box complaint :rofl:
Haven't you got an insurance?:rofl:or warranty:rofl:

i hv to agree, russian products do have a bad reputation being user and maintainence unfreindly`!

This is curious. There are strict protocols when delegating tasks in the military. There is always a gag order , no matter what military. "gear box complaint"?!

How are you even allowed to pass judgements? This is even more curious considering this website is public domain and the ownership is not indian.
