Here's the thing. Chinese students who didn't score high enough on the gaokao has to go to a foreign school or write again next year wasting a year. These overseas Chinese do extremely well in foreign universities, so what does that tell you about those "prestigious" schools?
As a grad of one of these so called prestigious western school worship by Pakistani and other south Asian i can tell you it doesn't guarantee the students a job or anything. You don't learn much because the content was intentionally made harder because the school can only graduate certain number of students in a particular program per year. In fact, it's just a money making scheme . Learning is reading the text book.but hey if foreign students want to pay 6x the student fee what I paid be my guest .

Even those duffers need a chance to become doctors and engineers. If they can afford it, why not??? How many new universities has the govt. opened in past 20 years to keep pace with population??? Chinese are rightly proud because we value their education system and we are willing to spend our money.

Engineers, maybe. Doctors - no. There is a reason why rules should be very stringent because lives depend on the quality of doctors - there should be no quota system or reservations in medical seats either.

Only 7% actually pass the FMGE exam( Foreign Medical Graduate Screening Exam). Majority of these students are from telugu states. I wonder if these students can practice anywhere in the world and their degrees are recognised???

I bet no one forms the top Indian university goes to China,
- Super Talented ones get the scholarship and go to MIT/ Cambridge/ Princeton etc.
- Mid Level Talented ones get a scholarship and go to Germany / UK etc.
