Nt necessary in this case. .There are very valid internal reasons why the sri lankan electorate threw him out.

The main person behind the movement to get the opposition parties together and to launch the campaign to abolish the executive presidency was Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero

This is no secret to any body in Sri Lanka or to those that follow Lankan politics closely.. There were no RAW involvement or major conspiracy theories as suggested here.. It's no big bloody secret who was behind this

Ven. Sobitha is the Chairman of the National Movement for Social Justice that was instrumental in getting the opposition together and giving them a platform to contest the Rajapaksa regime..

No one is disputing Lankans resolve for a change in their political fortunes, neither the legitimacy of the mandate. It's a fact that India always took keen interest in Sri Lanka's internal political affairs & it's also true that Mahendra Rajapaksa was definitely not a India's blue eyed boy.

. .
The same India and RAW had selped save Mahina Rajapakse when Sarath Fosenka planned a coup against him. So India is neither for not against anyone, the two priorities being limited to- a democratc government continuing in Sri Lanka and ensuring guarantees around settlement of Tamil question are met. If the new government has rationally decided to further relations with Inia, it is a clear recognition that India's role in the economic prosperity of SL is going to be high.

. . .
Its not unusual for intelligence agencies to get involved, CIA is also involved in Indian politics. They carry the mandate of their political bosses, and try what they can.
That does not mean, they got a great deal influence in the outcome itself (in an exercise like general election).

Loosening Beijing embrace, Sri Lanka reviews China projects -

Sri Lanka's new government will review Chinese infrastructure projects awarded under the previous administration, a junior minister said, a move bound to please Indian and Western powers concerned about Beijing's access in the island state.

On Friday, the government said it would review a US$1.5 billion (S$1.88 billion) port deal with China Communication Construction Co Ltd over concerns about the Chinese company getting land on a freehold basis in a high-security zone.

That port project had been of particular concern for India, the destination for the majority of the transshipment cargo through Colombo. India was furious with the last government after it allowed a submarine to dock there twice.

Harsha De Silva, deputy minister for Policy Planning and Economic Affairs, said on Saturday that President Maithripala Sirisena's government would look at benchmarks for Chinese infrastructure costs using independent audit firms. "We will certainly do that because we want to show the people the true cost of these projects as well as what they are paying for these projects," De Silva told reporters.

Lol, RAW doing lots of things. Still its one of the worst spy agency.

.
We are struggling to kick out the RAW installed BAL/SHW. SL ought to take care. They do need some assistance from ISI and MSS now.
