Indian Railways vs Chinese Railways: stop deluding yourselves...

India is two decades behind China in many areas. Railways is certainly one. But Indian railways work. Without Indian railways, India would never have been possible. India is introducing faster trains. Recently it introduced 200 KM/H train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

380km/h is the maximum operational speed on limited lines, now most trains service at 300-350km/h.
Zefiro 380 has very few market in China, only around 10 has been ordered in Sifang-Bombardier factory, after Bombardier refused to sell its railway sector to CRRC.

Now, China is eyeing on Chinese standardised transets.
All old types will be gradually replaced by new trains which abide by the new standards, such as CRH350, CRH380A, CRH6, and an array of new types under test.

It's nearly impossible for them to compete in the ongoing technological revolution.
probably thats why they dont order much because of it refusal to sell the business to china. german ice3 trains are doing well in china and have reached 450+km during tests the crh380b/bl and the chr380a. too
whats the fastest rains you gus have and at what speed can they are at to be commercially viable? i assume 380kmh is the legal speed they can travel but what they really do whilst holding passengers and the distance between stops.

Very good, congratulations

Please pay more attention to the Chinese news, welcome to the Chinese experience

This has only achieved 600+km/h in the lab.
They are building Beijing-Shenyang High-speed railway which will be tested for this train.....
The goal is an operational speed at 500km/h, 600+km/h for maximum.

German trains are the worst, most technical issues ever!
CRH3 is ICE3, but CRH380B though has similar exterior design but quite different technology inside.
Anyway, when trains are distributed to different railway bureaus, CRH3 is the least wanted.
CRH380A is the most preferred.
I don't know what's wrong with their engineers, but according to CRRC engineers, German counterparts are too old. Look at Siemens' new train, damn terrible.....

what? i have seen the hsr thread and have been on them too. they are very good.
oh and dont forget which country invented the train.
I don't think it's your home country though. :frown:
But I do hope we can see HSRs in Pakistan.

Yes, some do know, but most refuse to believe.

This is the case because Indian media takes every opportunity to bracket India with China as if they belong in the same class, but in reality India should be compared to African countries such as Ghana or Kenya. Indians get the wrong impression that India is only 15 or 20 years behind China when the gap is really more than 60 years.

I think it was until 2000s, the total mileage of China's expressways reached the level of America's interstate highways in 1970s.

Two decades ? i see more than that and its fact.

I firmly believe HSR of 200-250 KM/H is sufficient for our needs. We cannot afford such expensive toys like China, we might be lucky even 2-3 lines of Bullet Trains:(.

:-)

Economy of India & China were both same in 1990s so it's normal that Media will compare with China and not with Pakistan. Infact media is asking us why can't India do with an democracy if China can do with communism ?

You are from US ? how many Bullet Trains US has ?

Well, a few Points :

1. Indian Media is SHIT, when talking about Econimics and Technology
2. 99% Educated Indians will HUMBLY ACCEPT, that China is Miles ahead in Most Areas, Thanx to the efforts made in the past 4 Decades.
3. India started its Economic Journey atleast 3 decades after China in 1990s.

But the MOST IMPORTANT Aspect of this ( so called ) RACE is the path taken by the two nations. For Example our Approach towards Space is ENTIRELY different than CHINA's. CHINA is directly trying to be an Equivanent of USA, while we are focusing on a SUSTAINED DEVELOPEMENT.

For Example, While India TODAY has all the Infra and Technology to Launch a Man in Space, But thats Not a priority. We are Focusing on 15 Tom GTO Capability As early as 2020.

Another Aspect, which will be explored sooner or Later is the Cooperatoon of the Two Economies. Chinese companese are ALREDY BUSY with Several HIGH SPEED RAILWAY PROJECTS in INDIA !

Some Interesting Ideas and Comparisions :

China's economic reform began in 1978. The second economic reform was in 1992.
But....
In 1964, China has nuclear weapons.
In 1970, China successfully sent a satellite into space.
In 1980-1988, Iran–Iraq war give China's economic reform provides a valuable foreign exchange.... China also provides aircraft and tanks to Iran and iraq....
So, before China's economic reform, there is an industrial base....
