What's new

Indian Railways updates

Why was this not done earlier bhai? It is very standard operating procedure here in North America.
for freight trains this system is already in use especially in Python configurations, but for a fast passenger class train, this is first instance.

"Vande Bharat" express....the name could be better imo. But good to see Train 18 project getting implemented now.

@kmc_chacko @Peaceful Civilian @anant_s

Orders are given in fast phase, since R&D phase is completed to an extent. We have already delivered materials for 24 rakes and freshly ordered materials for 136 rakes are under process.

RCF is more eager to have its own T-18s rather than depending on ICF and I think in another 12 months 2 new models will take up the stage.

@padamchen

Udvada station is looking very clean, I hope sometime in future the town can be made an official world heritage site.

Yup in the old days we used to go by train. From Bombay Central (close to my ancestral home).

Now most of us just drive down. Under 3 hours from Bombay. Under 6 (if Doc is driving his Storme) from Poona.

If Doc is driving his Baleno and wife is sleeping, under 5.

Cheers, Doc

I regularly travel from pune to Hyd on the shatabdi , i just love the omelets they serve , from some reason they bring back a lot of childhood memories.
Remember the veg cutlets ? and if you have ever been to Bhusaval station , do you remember the omelette guy who used to fling it up high and catch it in his pan before serving it to you?

Can't have enough of them. IR veg cutlets are a treat for travelers. I've had them innumerable times from railway canteens to Pantry cars and even in Rajdhani express.

The quintessential veg breakfast of bread, butter chiplet, sauce and cutlets is something i look forward to on any railway journey.

You need to talk to Doc. The BNR had the best catering in India, at that time and later.
