Indian Muslims need to leave Hindu dominated neighborhood and create large Muslim dominated region/district for their safety. Muslims in West Bengal and Assam are much better protected because they lives mainly in Muslim dominated districts. Look at Murshidabad in West Bengal, a big Muslim dominated district with 8 million people, 6 million of them are Muslims. Can Hindutva terrorist be able to create riot and killing there? Hell No. A population re-arrangement is the need of time in India. If not district, then at least create large Muslim dominated town or cluster of villages where Hindutva mob can not enter.

I hear you. And accept my personal apologies for the careless remarks by some Pakistanis here who are insensitive to the Indian Muslims situation. They don't truly appreciate that leaving ancestral homes is not easy for ANYONE regardless of the religion and yet, by reliable sources, the Muslims in the modern India were instrumental in the formation of Pakistan, in migrating in huge numbers to Pakistan, and in contributing to the rise of the fledgling state of Pakistan. And well into even the 1960s/70s, the Indian Muslims sometime not so secretly cheered for Pakistan cricket team, although that was not advisable.

There is not much Indian Muslims can do to save themselves if this wave of ultranationalism will continue to grow in India except to move to the Muslim dominated areas. DO IT before too late! As I see India, it's split culturally and ideologically between the more civilized South vs the more virulent North. Move away from the North. Also, if the Indian Muslims can make an understanding with the Sikhs in Indian Punjab then they will be probably safer in Punjab than in UP.

Indian Muslims, if they have the caliber of leaders like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, should work for a change in their situation.
