Srinagar, December 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian police used brute force on the protest demonstration held by Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) at Press Enclave in Srinagar, today.

The police personnel also arrested Chief Organizer of the party, Imtiaz Ahmad Shah along with other activists and lodged them in Kothi Bagh police station.

The JKPFL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that party activists led by Imtiaz Ahmad were trying to take out a procession from Press Enclave against the increasing human rights violations by the Indian forces in the territory. However, the police personnel forcibly stopped them and arrested Chief Organiser Imtiaz Shah and other party activists after subjecting them to brute force. The spokesman also condemned the police action on peaceful protesters and described it frustration of the puppet authorities.

Meanwhile, the JKPFL Chairman, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, in a statement issued in Islamabad denounced the police action against the party activists. He demanded immediate release of the arrested party members.
