Indian obsession with fairness

Lighter skin in European and East Asian populations was in fact a SEPARATE and distinct genetic mutation.

In fact East Asians and Native Americans are genetically the most distant from Europeans. So the mutations which led to lighter skin in both populations were separate events.

This is around the natural skin color for East Asians:

I.e. Slightly tanned.

Compared to European skin, East Asians can get tanned MUCH faster and easier without getting sunburns. Another advantage is that we are much less likely to get skin cancer, due to the fact that we can tan without significant burns.

Indians are obsessed with fair skin because it's is very rare to find a good looking Indian women/man so they associate that ugliness with skin color which is not true.

No offence to you or any Chinese/oriental person man but ... DAMN the girl is GORGEOUS.

Traditionally/historically most societies on Earth (especially Asian ones) tended to prefer lighter skin, because darker skin signified that someone had to work in the sun all day and was therefore more likely to be poor.

Nowadays, the distinction is no longer clear, because a lot of rich people go on holidays and get very tanned. So in the future it may even be reversed, tanned skin for example is a desired trait in Western societies today.

It is true that fairness is still an issue in East Asian society, to the extent that East Asian women (who are naturally pale) will sometimes often go the extra step, and deliberately try to become paler, by staying out of the sun for example.

This is too pale:

Whereas this color is more natural:

She is not gorgeous but that's probably the best of the best girls you see India, so you're desperate

desperate is not even the right word to be used in this situation ... go through thesaurus for a proper word.
