Indian Navy tracks Chinese research vessel Yuan Wang in Indian Ocean

Nonsense, you need to read up on Maritime Law. Chinese vessels have the right of innocent passage within Indian EEZ. Just as India has the right to innocent passage through Chinese EEZ. Try to raise your India put downs to a higher better informed standard.
under naval laws of passage, a foreign naval ship doesn't require permission to be in others territory given they're passing by... so as long as the vessel keeps moving and doesn't stay at one place for more than 24 hours... they're not breaking any laws.

According to Indian law, all foreign ships must make their presence known at all times when passing through those waters.

From the article I posted:

In 1976, India passed the Maritime Zones Act which formally required all foreign warships to give prior notification when passing through the territorial waters of India, even while making an innocent passage. Though it is possible that national legislation passed well before UNCLOS could be in conflict with it, India has not taken any steps to amend it.

Now in the context of Chinese-Indian territorial disputes it takes on a whole new dimension, when Chinese military ships are conducting surveillance in these waters unhindered.

Indian law is irrelevant outside of its territorial waters and does not extend to EEZ. Yes of course a warship will need permission to enter territorial water even when its innocent passage.

Obviously, but if a ship does not respect Indian law and enters their waters without alerting them to their presence then what does that tell you?

As I said already in the context of Chinese-Indian tensions having military surveillance ships reguarly conduct such activities is the biggest slap in the face.

as long as indian navy doesn't challenge the ships under national laws, it is meaningless... suffice to say they're following international laws

To let a hostile military sit within their EEZ and monitor their ports is truly embarassing, no matter how you try and spin it. At the end of the day the Chinese have made it clear that they dont care about Indian law and continue to sail right into those areas despite Indian protests.

Wrong, since India has itself signed and ratified UNCLOS several years back, Indian law is not at all applicable outside territorial waters.
UNCLOS has made Indian maritime laws in EEZ null and void (becaus India has signed and ratified it).

For the same reason, US Navy ships pass through Chinese EEZ IN SCS and China can't do anything as Chinese laws are inapplicable there.

We have bever lodged any such protest at official or diplomatic level because what China is doing is completely lawful and legal as per UN global laws which has been ratified by us.

Does China have a law which states that all ships must register their presence in their EEZ.

Good I hope the Chinese navy park even more ships in your EEZ and survey your ports, while you all sit and do nothing. Please relay this to your media too as they are the ones raising such a commotion in the first place.

They’re just following international laws. This is why US navy can use right to navigate through the strait between mainland China and Taiwan

In a significant development, Indian Navy warships constantly tracked a Chinese research vessel which entered the Indian Ocean Region last month at a time when tensions rose on the land borders in Ladakh between the two nations.

The Yuan Wang class research vessel had entered the Indian Ocean Region from Malacca straits last month. It was constantly tracked by Indian Navy warships deployed there in the region, Government Sources said.

The Chinese research vessel returned to China a few days ago after being under constant watch of Indian Navy vessels, the sources said.

Such research vessels have been coming regularly from China and they try to gain sensitive information about Indian maritime territory.

In December last year, the Chinese research vessel Shi Yan 1 was carrying out research activities in the Indian waters near Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and was detected by maritime surveillance aircraft operating there.

Such vessels could have also been used by the Chinese to spy on the Indian activities in the Island territory from where India can keep a close eye on the maritime movements in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and South-East Asian region.

Since laws do not allow foreign countries to carry out any research or exploration activities in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the Indian Navy warship at that time had asked the Chinese research vessel to move out of Indian waters.

Chinese Navy has mastery in withdrawing. They did exactly what they are master in doing.
