Indian Muslims want 'Ground Zero Mosque' relocated

Well Indian Muslims aren't doing much to Islamize America. As a matter of fact, I do not even think any Masjid build or sponsored by Indian origin Muslims. May be they are out numbered. Most Masjid here are build and sponsored by Arabs, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis so I think we will decides weather this Masjid will get build or not. I think we will.

As a matter of fact, prayers are already taking place inside the proposed Masjid. :azn:

So thats your goal to Islamize America, thats good that Indian Muslims stand up against your madness. I dont know how people like you even manage to get into the States. You come to a country to live and make your lives better but you now want to change the same country and their beliefs to suit your needs, nice hypocrisy like always. And who told you that Indian Muslims do not sponsor Islamic events and mosque, why everyone comes for your approval before they built a mosque ? Grow Up.

Maybe the Indian Muslims don't care to be defined by you or anyone else of your ilk. This is easily one of the most confused posts here. You seem to assume that the Indian Muslims should somehow behave in such a manner as to please you & that would prove that they have,as you so eloquently put it, grown a pair ? Why should they fit into your mould? How would that make it any different from what you are accusing them of? Of trying to fit in ? Who are you or anyone else to decide for them? Do the pair that they grow have to resemble yours? Do they need to bend over only for the likes of you? Maybe you should practice what you preach & accept them for what they are. For a person who expects the Americans not to be judgmental, I see that you have no problem in being plenty that yourself !

lol well said, Muslims here forming opinions about other Muslims and then we cry when a white man looks at us and screams terrorist, Allah as they say does everything for a reason, and now I can see why. When we judge others, the world start judging us.

Sorry but our love for our nation controls our sanity, we dont go around burning our cities when a cartoon published in Denmark unlike others. Indian muslims being Indian first have the ability to view things in a more multidimensional way and have constantly proved that they are among the most liberal and forward thinking in the world.
Cheers

Danish Cartoons: Reactions in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh by L Venkateshwaran

The reactions to publishing the satirical cartoons of Prophet Muhammad in a Danish newspaper were largely muted among India's Muslim community. India had sought to be politically correct on issues relating to Islam. The Prime Minister's Office expressed deep concern over the cartoons and the hurt caused to the Muslims. But an elected Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Haji Yaqoob, shocked the secular elements in the country by announcing a bounty of Rs.51 crores for anyone killing the Danish cartoonist. Two little known Shariat courts soon joined the Uttar Pradesh minister in prescribing death for the Danish cartoonist but got little endorsement from prominent Muslim groups. Mean while, some protestors burnt the Danish flag outside the Jama Masjid in Delhi after the imam criticized the Danish government. This was followed by violent protests in Srinagar where police had to use force to control angry mobs threatening to destroy anything in sight. In Hyderabad, the old city area which has a sizeable Muslim population, witnessed large scale protests with violence spilling onto the streets. Significantly, the states with a large Muslim population (Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Kerala) witnessed aggressive protests instigated by local religious leaders who were intent on using this opportunity to strengthen their position within the community.

Would you like a cup of coffee for you and your horse? :coffee:

Yup we can see how your efforts to "Islamize America" is going on. General peoples views in US on Islam is going down even further, and not surprising given you guys are at the forefront and not surprising given how most of terrorists caught are from you know which countries ;)

Btw you do know that Indian Muslims in USA outnumbers every other nationality except Pakistani and Iranian muslims according to some research, right?. Maybe you can do a bit of research before posting nonsense.

Oh and also how do you know most masjids are not sponsored by Indians? Did you do a survey, or are you the overlord through which every mosque and Islamic center has to go through before approval?

No wonder american people are paranoid about Muslims when hypocrites like you live there. Living and benefiting from a country and then not adjusting to the society. Ah god save us.

Mastan got it wrong, so have a bunch of others - it seems as if to the Indian, criticism must never apply, only the trappings of praise whoredom - a sad situation.

couldnt have said it better myself!!

how obtuse can you get?? Look at the larger picture. Proponents of the Masjid (among them, several prominent U.S. flag waving American non-Muslims) argue that the actions of 9/11 perpetrators had NOTHING to do with Islam. The creation of a Masjid isn't as much a victory for Muslims as it is for AMERICA itself.

the only ''madness'' encompassing the initiatives is people like you who will gladly (read blindly) rally around a misguided cause ---to villify Islam and put 9/11 and Islam in one basket.

I'd have no problem if they built a hindu temple right next door, even though hindu extremists massacred Christians (in Orissa)

it would be prudent to also remember that many Muslims lost their lives on that tragic day as well....of course you conveniently forget that, right. :coffee:

is it a Mosque (and community center) or an Islamic missionary???

again, open your eyes and use your brain before posting utter crap

And who told you that Indian Muslims do not sponsor Islamic events and mosque, why everyone comes for your approval before they built a mosque ? Grow Up.

his point was that the aforementioned groups play an active role not just in building Mosques and holding Islamic events; but also creating forums and platforms where inter-faith harmony is discussed, endorsed & promoted

who came forward after the killing of WSJ's Daniel Pearl? It was a Pakistani Muslim --- Akbar Ahmed. MERRRRRRE example.

in the interests of adding comical relief (and FACTS) to a topic like this:

the founding fathers of America had utmost respect for Islam

Hi,

If I have gotten it wrong---then Asim---I offer my un-conditional apology---for that---I let the readers decide and they be the judge---and I will eat my words---and apologize in the manner that you see fit within reason.

The poem reminded me a comment one my wonderful friend made to me some 21 years ago---Dr Fazal Mohammad---one of the participating members of Jarvic 7 heart research at univ of utah in salt lake city---. Dr Fazal is indian be decent---what a wonderful---kind and sophisticated muslim he is---he says to me one day---MK---you pakistanis have no clue what you put us through---you have no understanding what we muslims have to suffer because of what you pakistani brethren do.

I could not look him up in the eye in shame---I could have cared less because I personally didnot do any thing to him---or the indian muslims---but I knew what he meant and I knew how reactive we pakistanis are.

I've always had a great deal of respect for your posts, MastanKhan. Never thought you'd start a rant against a member just for nothing. Getting personal is never the answer. Good to know that you have such a sensitive heart for the Indian Muslims but degrading yourself in the process of defending them says a lot more about you than anyone else over here.

Give Habib Jalib's work a read, its a part of our literature. Asim isn't the one who wrote those words, maybe you're barking up the wrong tree? ;)

Bezerk,

I have great respect for what you are doing---so let us keep it at that---. Asim is man enough to fight his own battles---and he is doing so aptly---he has spoken.

I don't upgrade myself and nor do I degrade myself---children make a RANT---adults don't---they make a statement---right or wrong---.

Please keep with with the noble job that you have taken up---I am surprised that you had the time to log on and jump into the pig sty.

There are no "Battles" being fought here, Mastan. You were way out of line and shocked many of us. Never took you for a person who'd resort to all that.

As for my presence, please get used to it as I've been here for a while now if you haven't noticed. Everything goes side by side in THIS part of the world.

Back to the topic, shall we?

Cheers!

Asim,

Why would you write and post something sickening and morally repugnant as this poem.

Indian muslims are courageous people---they are honorable people---they pay the price of every wrong that pakistan does---they pay the price of every hindu girl raped in pakistan a hundred times over---they pay the price of every hindu killed in pakistan a hundred times over---.

For every terrorist act, these muslims lose their lives, property, their dignity, the lives of their children.
Actually, the correct statement would be that 'Indian Muslims pay the price of every Hindu zealot elected into office, willing to massacre thousands in riots in Gujrat, or raze an old mosque and kill yet more thousands in riots over the razing'.

Pakistan and Pakistanis have nothing to do with the communal issues in India.

Using your analogy, the sin of every Hindu crime against Muslims in India is in fact responsible for the suffering of Hindus in Pakistan you blame for the suffering of every Muslim in India .... wow, that gets circular doesn't it?

i.e. it is an absurd argument to make, and the facts around communal violence in India show it to be so.

And Fareed Zakarai is definitely one Indian-American-Muslim who is not 'honorable', given his penchant for distorting the truth when it comes to Pakistan.

News: Indian Muslims want 'Ground Zero Mosque' relocated: Relo to Delhi via the next "shamjota masjid sai karlo" express.................

I always thought that indian muslims looked down upon pakistanis, but of course that would be overgeneralizing. I am sure there are many good willed humans there as well. We should be united instead of divided !

On topic - Indian-American-Muslim organizations can take any position they want, but as with the rest of the people who wish the mosque to be relocated, they have no rational argument other than painting all Muslims and Islam as being responsible for terrorism and the 9/11 attacks, or appeasing prejudice and bigotry in the hope that doing so now (by relocating the mosque) will somehow sate it.

Perhaps the Indian-American-Muslim association can tell us what the organizers of half a dozen other proposed mosques across the US, being opposed by similar right-wing nutters, should do?

Should they also 'respect the majority'? And then what? A blanket ban on any new mosque construction in the US? Perhaps then the IAM association might feel that it has done enough to appease the 'majority', or maybe they'll advocate Muslim-Americans 'Americanize' their names in order to not 'offend the sensitivities' of non-Muslim Americans.

Welcome Mo, goodbye Mohammed.

Could be PTSD from the Babri Mosque razing by Hindu zealots - they may be afraid of a similar event at the hands of right-wing zealots in the US.

Assuming that is the goal of some people, what exactly is wrong with those people peacefully and politically advocating in support of change that is in line with their beliefs?

I have had many a discussion with committed American conservatives who end up getting frustrated enough to start ranting about 'liberals should leave America and go live somewhere else since they are trying to change America'. One could make a similar argument, from a liberal perspective, that conservatives should leave the US and go live in Saudi Arabia or the Vatican. Pakistan has an ongoing impassioned national discussion between those committed to a Secular State and those who wish to retain a religious identity for the State. Point being that people are bound to have differences in political philosophy, ideology etc. and they have every right to advocate in favor of that, so long as they do it within existing laws and do so peacefully - one cannot tell everyone with a different viewpoint to leave the country.

Americans are not children that 'Islamists' are going to somehow hoodwink them into accepting Shariah, and everyone will wake up one day to find out that the Burqa and gender segregation is mandatory.
