Indian medical students to sign return bond if going to the US

Hey ideot , your posts simple reek of jealousy. What the hell is your problem if he wants to stay in the US. I bet you were one of those who just wasn't good enough to get a seat in any good US university or was denied a visa for what could be a 1000 reasons , your fuckin gawar language for instance.

No problem, but is it morally right on the part of a person on whom GoI had spend lakhs of rupees in training ,in the hope that it will benefit the common man ,to take the next flight out of India never to return again.

My humble opinion is that the Medical graduates from Govt colleges should be given an option to free themselves from the bond by paying back to the Govt the money spend on them.

Doctors serving in rural areas? That's just a joke, first let the government improve infrastructure in this places and then ask the doctors to go serve the people there, most of the places lack basic medication even in towns and cities.

only the people who are associated with medical profession can understand what it takes to become a good doctor .....by people I mean ...the people who are in general category ...there are very less number of post graduation seats available....huge chunk of that is taken by reserved quotas ...I wanna go for a superspecialisation in gastroenterology after my residency ....but you see there are only 2 seats available in general category in whole punjab for gastro.......so what do you want me do .......I am spending over 25-30 lakh for giving my usmle exams and doing electives and finishing up interviews .....put yourself in our shoes and see for yourself what we are going through.....

In Kerala you have to pay 2.5 to 3.5 lakh annually for Govt (Merit) seat in Pvt Medical Colleges, about 6 lakh/year for Management seats and around 9-10 lakh/year for the NRI seat. On the otherhand an MBBS seat in a Govt Medical College Costs just Rs 50,000 per year. In otherwords you can complete the entire MBBS course in a Govt college with the money that you spend on a single year in a Pvt Medical College on Merit Seat with money to spare. So is it too much for the Govt to ask these students from Govt colleges to spend one year in rural areas.

I will accept to the first part of your statement that compared to a lot of other states the infrastructure in kerala is better but how many rural hospitals have you been to there, would you take your loved once to any of those places. By the by the statement made by me was an understatement if you know the number of tablets the poor doctors have access to.

as I already said non medicos have no idea how the medical field works ......Between we have a course which is already 5.5 years duration ..you wanna make it 6.5 year...fine I will do that but after that I SHOULD BE FREE TO DO WHAT EVER I WANT ..go to US or Indian PG....I am willing to even pay the full fee even although we were not told at the time of our admission about this ......

for your info ...doctor with just a MBBS degree are good for nothing ...90% of them just after graduation cannot even prescribe you a medicine for cold or fever ..this is the ground reality.....we have to do a three year PG in which we learn all the practical stuff..that I told you is so hard to get .......due to the stupid reservations...


between this stupid bond also apply to those people who have paid full fee at private medical colleges which are not even govt funded with your so CALLED TAX PAYER MONEY....now answer this... isn't it unconstitutional .....

Just curious, how would India be able to enforce this?

Lets say a prospective doctor decides he or she would rather stay in the US? What are the consequences with regards to family back home? what could India's government do to the person themselves (we are speaking legally of course, no poison or such lol)? Would it be worth the taxpayer's expense?

More importantly, would the US government deny the prospect permission to practice? This seems to hinge on that. I don't see any confirmation on that front.

In india doctors are given high regards. They should be seva minded people. If you want to make money or study why don't you go to US or UK after you complete +2.

In Tamilnadu sometime back the medical students went on a strike asking the government not to open any more private medical colleges. They stopped their services in GH to get their demand approved. Now we already have a doctor : people ratio of 1:1600. They don't want to open new colleges to increase the doctors in the state. Then what are the options left?

even if the US govt enforces this then the law can only be applicable to Indian citizens .....but what about if they get US citizenship in the middle of the residency ..then I don't think this will hold...

The United states requires a NOC certificate from the home government. Indian government will not issue the NOC.

Bro ..just MBBS students without their Residency i.e PG are good for nothing ......what Indian government need to do is increase Postgraduation seats why would anyone leave India then......In US they have 8000 surplus postgraduation seats( UG-16000 AND PG-24000 ).....MBBS doctors are no better than quacks ...unfortunately common people here often jump to conclusion without thinking......

The United states requires a NOC certificate from the home government. Indian government will not issue the NOC.

NOC is required at the time you apply for visa ...it is at that time the bond is said to be signed ....
