INDIAN MEDIA: Low Quality, Obnoxious Reporting

Well well, the true face comes out.
After reading this, I don't think I need to read the crap you have posted after this, especially since it will be the typical ManiAiyer type rant..

Enjoy your "hatred" ;)

What true face are you talking about? My views have been consistent for seven years of membership of this forum.

And Mani Iyer may have his good points, but he is so unbalanced that he is just a bhakt seen in a mirror. Only you sorts will read him.

While i agree that Indian media has its own flaws and draw backs........ The cherry picking is absolutely fun to watch....... They doesnt know how many channels are available in India..... I am sure we have more than 1000 channels operates in India and close to 300 of them are 24/7 news channels....... Now if one want to cherry pick, can easily do based on his interest and intention......

Look at it this way.

The clowns who constitute the decaying fringes of Indian media pick bad stories, and distort good stories.

The clowns who are driving this thread pick bad elements in the Indian media and distort good elements.

What's the difference?

Exactly...Like I have stated, you have been consistent in your hatred.
In fact your mask falls off when you address certain topics. very predictable.

My point was against the the major news channels like IBN7, Zee news, ABP and others which are the pillars of Indian media. In other words the channels which attract the largest number of viewers.
Let me make it clear. Pakistani media is not clean either. However generally compared to Indian media, the differences are like that of heaven and hell.

In this clip itself the reporter addresses Obama as if he is talking to Obama himself! If a Pakistani news channel did this
Pakistanis would die laughing and probably put the channel on the ignore list.

These channels that you have quoted are certainly not pillars of Indian media. Zee News is known for its forgeries and manufacturing stories. IBN7 was bought up from an independent team by a businessman who supports the current government and has gone into a loop ever since. I have no views about ABP because I don't watch the media very much nowadays; it is a waste of time.

I also have no views about heaven and hell, being an atheist :P

However, does not watching qualify as putting something on the ignore list? If you ask around, even among the extremely limited number of Indians on this forum, you might get a few surprises. I have not watched the clip that you refer to because watching trash is not exactly my idea of a good way of spending time. Please feel free to watch whatever you want, but do think about things a little before jumping to conclusions.

This is an extremely stupid thread, both as far as the critics of Indian media are concerned, and as far as its defenders are concerned. You will forgive me if this is the last you see of me on this particular thread.

If I have been consistent, where is the mask? You are now getting incoherent. Take a break, have a drink of water......

I think the frothing in the corners of your mouth is not helping your rational side..
Consistency in your hatred.
And your mask of civility, which you don't give when debating certain topics.

But hey...please continue to expose yourself.

Come on. These threads are meant to lighten the mood (for Pakistanis). The 'alternate' topics would be NSG, Hyderabad money transfer case, Hussain Haqqain's latest rant etc etc.
I hope that you watch the video posted. I guarantee you it will give you chuckle.

Can you tell us the names of Indian channels you consider credible? I'm asking that because I don't watch any of them and very few selective programs from Pakistani media.

If you insist.

After breakfast, after I have been fortified. Some of our Indian members are adding to my dismay by their thoroughly partisan attitude.

Just play with them as if they were little kids (or ignore them). I personally find such people quite entertaining and they only make this world more 'colorful'

NDTV is among the very, very few that I bother to look at any more, perhaps once a quarter. They are really such trash. I don't know how you chaps can bear to watch them even for a laugh.

I read The Hindu when I have the time, although some articles in the Indian Express have been quite impressive; occasionally, the Hindustan Times also prints something worthwhile. The pinks are generally good on economics; their political views make me ill.

Although the ghastly term 'presstitute' was coined by a loser who tried to get himself an extension of service through the backdoor, and was treated with contempt by the courts, it does have an application, to the Times of India group, both the paper and the channel qualifying for this tag. If you watch the channel, your brain will turn to mush.

I don't watch even Pakistani media...even very few Americans e.g. The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, BBC, Russia Today (to get both sides of the story), and CNBC. In Pakistan, The Pakistan Observer, Business Recorder, and for TV shows Dr Shahid Masood since he provides normally good analysis and news once per week...

Indians know more about America and its enemies than american themselves?

.
It was really hard for me to understand because he was using so much sanskirt, but what I got is that according Indian media
  1. TEL cannot look similar :hitwall:
  2. China cannot provide TEL design to Pakistan directly, it has to come via N. Korea
  3. TEL means transfer of nuclear technology
  4. TEL is the most advanced piece of equipment in the entire world because India has failed to make one :omghaha:
As as a Pakistani, I'm rather happy, if that's their standard, we shouldn't worry too much..I think they provide us with free entertainment since there is real paucity of quality comedy shows..they are making fools of themselves not only in the world but also for sensible Indians and for them I really fret how do they bear all this.

Most of us DON'T bear all this. We stopped watching the worse ones years back, and the better ones months back. My daughter worked for five years, one and a half on Headlines Today, two years in The Hindu and one and a half years on CNN-IBN (when it was a halfway decent uncommitted channel). She finally couldn't take any more and went into academics (as a result of which, currently I am the least educated member of my family).

Indians know more about America and its enemies than american themselves?

Yes, the irony is noted, but on the other hand, what you write is (equally ironically) true, speaking of most educated Indians relative to most educated Americans.
