@SOHEIL sir,is it possible for India and Iran to collaborate in the field of Space technology in the near future??What i meant to say is that India can now launch heavier satellites using GSLV MK-III,so maybe in the near future we can co-operate in a joint manned space mission. What's your thoughts in this matter!!

Journey to Human Space Flight is begin today in SrihariKota after MK 3 launch.

No offence to Iran but why? If you were proposing a collaboration with NASA or the Russians then fair enough but what really could Iran add to ISRO? ISRO is doing just fine on their own and I don't really see the need to go to others for help.

Again, no offence intended, just being realistic here.

Oh come on mate,Iranian scientists have got valuable experiences in the field of space tech.,even after they were sanctioned all these years they have managed to build their own indigenous SLV which is quite an achievement. So any future Indo-Iranian co-operation will be mutually beneficial(although these are my personal views).

This is impossible >>> Sanctions !

Yes ... we don't have anything to offer :(

Despite having so many sanctions Iran has developed so much in Space tech.I am sure ISRO will benefit greatly from Experience of Iranian Scientist

not now may be...but Sanctions are not going to stay forever..US had to recognize even cuba...and i think Iran is much better placed internationally compared to cuba....

Space collaboration with Iran for now is not possible...except may be launching of satellites because India needs collaboration of US and Israel for more technology...but as i said decade or 2 later..who knows..

This is what we have so far :

We have our own scary monster ... but we can't launch it because of negotiations !

indian space program is civil applications oriented in nature

definitely we can have tie up with iran with respect to civil applications

like help iran to launch iranian satellited for telecom, TV broadcaast sat radio telemedicine etc

we can even offer iran to join IRNSS / GAGAN system if they allow us to setup base stations in iran

we can also go for joint development of satellites

if we can offer our help in space tech to SAARC then we can definitely offer help to Iran Burma Vietnam etc

but if the intention is to learn space launcher tech and develop Ballistic missiles from it - then it wont work out - launcher tech we will not share

all civilian applicaitons are surely on

US won't tolerate an Iran Telecom satellite !

We need our own positioning satellites for military purposes !

but if the intention is to learn space launcher tech and develop Ballistic missiles from it - then it wont work out - launcher tech we will not share

If negotiations fails you will find out ...

Russians collaborated with us when we had nothing and opportunities can be created if we explore and as space race grows joint ventures are going to increase so it will be good for both India and Iran if we explore areas where we can collaborate.

India needs to focus on making our rocket fuel better. According to some Chiense posters, the weight of the rocket and the weight of the shuttle points to an area of inefficiency.

I'm just being realistic. India has more than enough talent in India (in terms of scientists) and thus increasingly doesn't even need to go to the established space powers for specialist assistance.

The thing is Iran would benefit a lot more than India would from such collaborations, I am just being pragmatic here I honestly don't mean to offend. I have nothing against Iran or their scientists- they do impressive work with what they have but ISRO is an aspirational organisation and thus if it wants outside help (I'm not sure they need or desire it) they should be getting it from those who are ahead of them, not behind.

The one thing Iran could help ISRO with is boosting its feeble budget ($1 BN or so is not enough).
