Sylhet: Indian Khasias kidnapped a Bangladeshi farmer from Lobhachhara in Kanaighat upazila, dragged him across the border to India and shot him dead and left the body beside a frontier pillar on Monday.(UNB)
The deceased was identified as Masad Ali, 30, a farmer and son of late Alaur Rahman of Kandala Konapara village of Laxmiprasad Purbo union.
BGB and police said a gang of armed Khasias of Kuling Punji in India intruded into Bangladesh and kidnapped Masad when he was grazing cattle at Hapar Mukh at Lobhachhara and took him to Kuling Punji at 11 am.
They tortured him and sprayed bullet on him, leaving him dead and dragged the bruised body across the border and left it inside Bangladesh territory beside the No 1324 Main Pillar.
Locals found the body in the evening and informed Lobhachhara BGB Camp who informed Kanaighat police. UNB
