relax brother relax. We Pakistanis love to take dig at hindus. My post specifically dont represent others, but to those who r extremist types of hindus. As u live with them probably u know their nature better then us that they r cowards in nature.

We just find that fun.

but it is unfair and incorrect to categorize all hindus as being sanghi... if there are millions of sanghi hindus there are also millions of hindus who are progressive including forming a big part of the communist/socialist movement and in the subcontinent it takes bravery to be a socialist.

let us remember that just since 2013, three prominent progressives/rationalists, all hindu-born, were assassinated and the finger of blame is of course automatically pointed at the rss, bajrang dal and other terrorist groups of the sangh parivar movement.

and then there was a hindu lady in bangalore who had spoken out against the anti-female traditions in indian society and therefore received death and rape threats on her facebook page.

the "aam aadmi party", the new center-left progressive movement, is headed by arvind kejriwal, a hindu-born.

so you see, blanket categorization is unfair. :)

Well like i said, since u live with them u know them better nature wise and the specifics, as well as these individuals that u have mentioned. I live in a foreign country and have a foreign ancestry to this region. So to me from outsider's POV that seems what it seems and my posts reflect that as well.

Not when he sees what "socialism" has done to India. It all looks rosy and good before it gets implemented. Most of socialisms nascent supporters...probably 99% would rescind their views if confronted with the facts of what socialism means in reality, they just need to look at the USSR for that.

when was proper socialism ever implemented at state-level india??

i as a socialist don't see any socialism at state-level... frankly, i am frustrated by the many number of times i have had to explain this on pdf.

you present ussr as negative example despite it being countless times better than india... nevertheless, in a discussion with a senior socialist in my town, i agreed with him that all socialist and "communist" countries like ussr have been live experiment societies... india never started on such a experiment track but simply continued with the pre-1947 social and economic system and india politically was simply a power transfer from the british without any poltical innovation... sure, india's constitution has some progressive bits and some bits that are derived from socialism but the indian poltical, social and economic arrangement is extremely non-socialist... india is the most capitalist society in history !!

regarding india, to begin with a example, two socialist societies, libyan jamahiriya and north korea, brought free housing as a basic human right to their citizens... there were/are no homeless people there... india being a capitalist society doesn't have free housing and if you need to have a house built you must go to a bank ( government and private capitalist ) which will lend you a interest-based loan to repay which you must generally be engaged in jobs ( wage-slavery ) ... india has 70+ million homeless people, who have difficulty in obtaining more than two meals a day... other the other hand, since india has a reactionary culture background, no matter than living humans are homeless and destitute, there are millions of religious houses and prayer houses, where tons of food material is wasted every day.

and the indian establishment has always conspired with the capitalist-imperialist nato bloc to act against socialist countries, whether during the korea war or whether during the 80's and 90's afghan crisis or whether during the syria and libya war.

the indian it and services industry runs without a employee union system, despite oppression in the industry.

just some examples, but if this is sign of a society run by a socialist establishment, all socialists in the world must reconsider their understanding of socialism. :)

when one's material needs are fulfilled without spending most of the day in economic bondage, one can have the spiritual calmness and harmony to create, discover and contribute.

this is the simple desire of socialism.
does the above text portray india??

below i present what a actual socialist system looks like... it is from libyan jamahiriya...

1. any person interested in engaging in farming was given free land by the system, along with seeds, tools needed and housing, for free.

2. electricity and water was free ( that too in a largely desert country ), and libya had history's largest irrigation system, "the great man-made river" project ( gmrr ).

3. housing for any citizen was to be lived rent-free until the resident wished... rent was considered a compromise on the freedom of the citizen and therefore anti-human.

4. medical system was free, and if treatment was available outside, the costs would be borne by the system.

5. education system was free, and if that course was available outside, the costs would be borne by the system.

6. education was of one's choice and could not be forced by parents or circumstance.

7. food was at low cost.

8. any person interested in establishing a business was given a start-up amount of 20,000 dollars, interest-free.

9. all loans were interest-free.

10. no private banks operated in libya.

11. for a person not in employment, he or she was given the average salary ( stipend ) for the person's choice of field of employment... in fact, this was a coming-down in later years from the early days of the al-fatah revolution... in 1979, a unemployed person was given 7000 dollars per month !!

12. libyan jamahiriya being socialist, all wasteful traditions were frowned upon, like 600-guest four-day weddings like what happens in south asia.

13. at weddings, the bride and groom were together given 50,000 dollars to help them set up a new home etc.

14. car purchase was subsidized by the system.

----------

no farmer suicides happened in libyan jamahiriya and neither was libyan jamahiriya ( or indeed the dprk ) called "suicide capital of the world" because most material needs of the citizens were taken by the political/economic system.

So to me from outsider's POV that seems what it seems and my posts reflect that as well.

i too am outsider to places like turkey, syria, egypt, usa or indeed pakistan, but i do know a nuanced and better picture of their internal/external politics and often better than many of the natives there as you can see from my posts on pdf.

it is a matter of training oneself and this comes naturally to me as i am a socialist/internationalist and consider myself to be a citizen of humanity. :)

Poor baby..loves to take a dig. In order to do that he becomes so desperate that he has to invent stories about himself that he rides a sportscar.
Then, upon being asked, he posts random pictures of the internet claiming it to be his own car. What a pathetic loser. Go, oil your cycle.

@jamahir No free lunch, sorry.

how come millions of non-living religious idols have a lavish free breakfast in india[1] but millions of living humans don't?? :)

late last year were reports of tea estate workers in darjeeling dying of hunger[2] but of late there are bakeries in bangalore which specialize in food stuff for dogs !! what kind of country is this !!

food is a basic right for humans... a cat doesn't pay nature or humans for him or her to grab a mouse.

in the libyan jamahiriya, most things were either free or subsidized or available at low cost... it was generally a very comfortable place and one glaring indication is that despite libya having the law of allowing the citizens the rights to guns one didn't associate libya as a gun-crime society... now imagine if guns were allowed as right of citizens in money-based society india. :)

everything should be free ( the only "currency" should be participation and contribution to society )... money system should be abolished to have a truly scientific society... but in the present circumstance, a socialist welfare state is of utmost necessity to india ( and the subcontinent ).

and when i have written in the previous post that it is because of india's extreme money-based culture that india is called "suicide capital of the world" what is the point in telling me that this money system should continue?? :)

yaar kis kis ko tain karo gy.....Sari dunya ko train karty phero gy kya? Everyone has there own line of thinkings, but majority view things from what it is shown.

no doubt... indians on pdf and offline cannot only react angrily to the other nationalities being critical or mocking about indian situations... it would be better for indians to correct their own society first and make it so that it could be presented to the world as example of harmony, justice and progress.

"Proper" socialism would have been worse. It would have killed multitudes more people than you can possibly imagine. I for one am glad India never had to face a Stalin or Mao....or even a Lenin.

Mass education is the only truly worthy goal espoused by Socialism....but a country does not need to be Socialist for that to happen.

The other socialist ideals fall flat due to human nature and vested interests eventually triumphing in the power circles. Thats why not one truly successful utterly socialist country exists today. They are all failures, former socialists and/or reformed transitioned.

"Proper" Socialism is a failed experiment...accept it. Only a balance of its positive elements mixed with the positive elements of other systems....viewed empirically and neutrally is the best way forward. We have the experience now to draw upon the failures so at least thats a bonus of just how much "socialism" is too much.

you present ussr strangely as negative example despite it being countless times better than india

I see India on the map still. Do we see the USSR? Strange definition of "countless times better".

libyan jamahiriya and north korea, brought free housing as a basic human right to their citizens... there were/are no homeless people there.

Seriously...no homeless people in North Korea? These people were starving by the millions, more than 50% of them were malnourished in the 90s before they got the donations from the South. North Korea is an abject failure....as is Libya.

No amount of Jamahirya propaganda is going to change the Libya model either....yet another failure. I mean its all well and good when you have a massive oil fortune per capita to implement whatever model you want and call it "successful"....a country like India did not have that luxury....and worse did not build up the human capital by education that it should have in its formative years. The latter however has nothing to do with Socialism or Capitalism....and ultimately 6 million or so Libyans (the size of just one average Indian city) now live in Anarchy and terror because of one megalomaniac and his own vanity and evil nature.

india being a capitalist society doesn't have free housing and if you need to have a house built you must go to a bank ( government and private capitalist ) which will lend you a interest-based loan to repay which you must generally be engaged in jobs ( wage-slavery )

There should be no free handouts to anyone if they dont want to improve themselves. We do not need captive lazy populations that stay poor and stupid....and vote for whoever gives them more handouts and freebies (while making profits on the side). Thats precisely why India failed miserably till the 90s....and thats why there is still that monumental inertia from that utter malaise that we need to overcome.

india has 70+ million homeless people, who have difficulty in obtaining more than two meals a day...

India needs to be able to create enough productivity so that resources can be more easily accessed by the destitute to improve their skillset and own productivity. The transfer of this lies with the efficiency of the economic system. Socialist systems are notoriously inefficient. Have you ever looked at the type of housing the USSR had for the majority of its citizens given its production per capita? I have been to Moscow....its not a pretty sight to this day when you go to the housing estates where they mostly live. The median wealth per person in India is higher than that of Russia today....did you know that? There is some huge long term scarring they have from the socialist system...and you want people to go back to it because with a wave of a magic wand....suddenly the results will be reversed....and people in power will change?

Nope the world firmly rejects the socialist, extreme lazy, constant doles+handouts + no desire for productivity and efficiency firmly and decisively.

You seem to have forgotten that with all the "free housing", welfare programs blah blah blah....the East Germans CONCLUSIVELY voted with their feet and minds....till that regime waved the white flag and integrated back into the welathy, productive and efficient side of Germany.

Unfettered socialism will always remain good on paper. Never in reality. Thats why you will simply get more and more desperate as time goes by and the last few areas of resistance worldwide are broken down....hopefully not as spectacularly and violently as your beloved Gadaffi Libya.

and the indian establishment has always conspired with the capitalist-imperialist nato bloc to act against socialist countries, whether during the korea war or whether during the 80's and 90's afghan crisis or whether during the syria and libya war.

Conspired? LOL. How close was India to the USSR politically in the cold war? During the latter part, India was poles opposite to the western NATO alliance. However we played both sides when needed, thats always what a mature pragmatic nation will do once it gets off its feet.

No one cares about Syria and Libya. We put India first and foremost...we certainly are not going to get involved anywhere that far away if thats what you want. If you want you are welcome to go to those places and try bring change again to what you want.

If you dont like India, leave it. Go take your revolution somewhere it might succeed and wants it. You will just continue to lose the battle staying in India. That I can guarantee you. We don't want socialism, end of story. No productive and aspiring society wants complete socialism in the modern day...because everyone understands any extreme of any system is ultimately bad and destructive. Its all about balance, experience and pragmatic results....not fanciful theories written by elites who have too much time on their hands. We have a wealth of history to draw upon when making decisions now....and it is clear that socialism has only certain areas (like early mass literacy) where there is a need for its agenda. Outside that, nope....the results speak for themselves.

how come millions of non-living religious idols have a lavish free breakfast in india

And what is done with the prasadam 99.999% of the time? Do you know?

People are free to choose the way they decide to use their money. It's not for you to claim. You have peculiar habit of comparing two unrelated events and then trying to make them sound as if they are related. Well, they are not. The fallacy is easy to spot.

If ice cream sales has gone up and so is death due to drowning, it doesn't mean ice cream sales is the cause and death due to drowning is the effect. It could simply mean, its summer time. Get a grip on reality.
Also, to add, some of the largest charitable organizations in the country are actually religious organizations, to be specific Hindu religious organizations. Did you know that?

if some invests 500 rupees of their own money into buying a knife and randomly seeks out victims on a road, will you also employ the same logic?? :)

when something is harmful to society or is anti-human or disrupts harmony, it must be challenged and removed... most other societies did that decades ago.

the two things i compared relate to food... non-living idols being "fed" with free food while living humans dying because of lack of money to obtain food.
