Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has strongly condemned the arrest and shifting of liberation leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam to an unknown destination.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar stressing immediate release of all political prisoners slammed Indian leaders for their tall claims about India being the largest democracy in the world. He also criticized the administration for repeatedly slapping the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) against freedom leaders, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Shakeel Ahmad Butt and Mir Hafiz Ullah.

Syed Ali Gilani said that the puppet administration was following the dictates of Indian intelligence agencies instead of taking any decision independently about the arrest of Hurriyet leaders.

“On one hand, the authorities are openly rejecting court orders without any justification, while the judiciary never takes notice of this violation, on the other,” he lamented.

“Police and administration do not honour the court orders. Such violation is tantamount to humiliation for judiciary, too,” he added.

The veteran leader deplored that the High Court of the occupied territory in its verdict proved that Mushtaq-ul-Islam was innocent and his detention was illegal, “but contrary to it, he was rearrested on the same charges by the authorities.”

He urged the Amnesty International and the International Red Cross Committee to take serious notice of the plight of political prisoners and use their influence to bring immediate release.
