Indian Ground Forces....The Future.

:).. we keep underestimating them dude. During the Kargil war their ground forces had radar which tracked the trajectory of shells fired from our artillery guns and were able to pinpoint and destroy many of them. Besides, they have far fewer recruits to equip, not to mention all the equipment that flew in due to the WOT. When it come to combat they will definitely have some BJ on.

I believe there were some issues with the weight.

All issues have been rectified and the underbarrel granade launcher was cleared for bulk production. Both livefist and broadsword had reported this.

am not trying to underestimate anyone.....

am also happy to see if our soldiers are equiped the same way US soldiers... Digital camo, kelvar BPJ,nice sunglass,Head mount display......

but we cant transform in to that level in one shot.... i will give the priority as follows

1:BPJ and helmets [light weight]
2: New rifles with scope
3:good communication equipment
4:Night vision equips..

I believe you just summed up the F-Insas program. Hope it materializes.

ya ... i means the procurement should be hapen gradually... we should not wait for completing the entire program...

Still you are blabbering about INSAS!!Well, what can we say??After the Kargil war the snags have been rectified subsequently.
I am not saying that a new assault rifle should not be procured. But calling the INSAS 'crap' is not right. You are complaining about the absence of full auto mode.So where is the DRDO's fault? They even developed a full auto version but army rejected that infavour of the current version,go check the ofb website before talking bs.You are telling it can't kill. That means you don't know a about a firearm,do you??The killing power is complete depended on ammo the rifle uses, not the rifle itself.Any rifle that uses 5.56*45mm NATO rounds suffer from the same 'weakness'you are saying about INSAS-be it Tavor or M4.The 5.56 NATO was developed to injure the enemy. You don't even know these simple facts and instead of doing some research you are bashing DRDO for something which they are not guilty of.It was the army who wanted a 5.56 NATO rifle.Infact when INSAS was developed there was no facility in our country to produce that rounds because before INSAS our army used 7.62*51 NATO 1ASLR and AK M.But you lazy people will not go the hard way to research but bash the DRDO because it's much easier to do.But by doing so you are insulting those mem who dedicated their lives for this country. What have you done for india other than talking bs here?? As I said all talk and no walk

i guess the Army shares the same views as you thats why they want to replace INSAS huh???? i'm not blaming DRDO read my comments are you illiterate? OFB produces the rifles at a variable quality i'm bashing them and really you want to make things personal on here??? WHAT HAVE YOU done for India other than be jingoistic on a world wide forum? my grand father and great grand father served the IA during WW2 and 1965 war what have you done eh?

Well,I asked what have 'you' done for india, not what you dad or grandpa did.It seems you are the illiterate here.It may be true that till now I have not done anything for india simply because the time has not come and that's why I don't bash our army or DRDO,not like you-doing nothing and talking big.
By the way,you did not read my post.I told many times in this thread that INSAS should be replaced but not with the K11.It should be replaced with a higher calibre rifle.Besides K11's firing performance should be inferior to INSAS and the former weighs much greater than the later. But what use to tell such things to an illiterate persons who claims that INSAS can't kill and that's why the rifle is crap without knowing every 5.56*45mm rifles suffer from same 'weakness'.As I told only words can justify you are,'all talk and no walk.'
REGARDS....

like i said tell me why Army wants to replace INSAS then if it isn't crap? all the bad reviews from Jawans this isn't my personal opinion its what the army thinks not just me.... and when did i Bash DRDO? looks like someone still has trouble reading :toast_sign: really then what should INSAS be replaced with??? if 5.56mm is too weak why not just bring back the old SLR's and AK47's that get the job done? if DRDO can make a rifle that is hi tech and suited for our armys needs than all is well how ever having OFB produce them at a variable quality is another issue i guess even you accept OFB produces cheap and crappy arms, maybe INSAS is not the problem but the quality of the OFB produces rifles

new Digital Camo like this perhaps?

200px-CadPatTW.jpg

The personal clothing of this soldier of the future would be lightweight with a bullet-proof jacket. The futuristic jacket would be waterproofed yet breathable. The new attire that will enable the troops carry the extra load and resist impact of chemical warfare.Uniform will also carry solar chargers for charging Palmtop and other electronic equipments attached it also contain external oxygen supply respirator providing protection against CS and CN gas and smoke.Flame retardant carbonized viscose undergarments.Fire proof knee and elbow pads. bullet-proof armoured waistcoat designed to stop a round and also absorb its kinetic energy. ceramic armour plates covering the front, back and groin.Armoured helmet able to stop a 9mm round at close range. The new uniform will have vests with sensors to monitor their health parameters and provide quick medical relief.[1]

will this new lightweight BPJ be made by DRDO or TATA?

like US army following we have to maintain different digital camo for different terrain such as dessert, snow and jungle

I also think so, jungle camo in Desert doesnt help much. It makes a soldier easier to spot.

each corps of the army will be equipped with certain type of camo in the area they are operating in for example J&K Rifles would not use desert digital camo that would go for troops active in Gujurat or Rajastan
