New Delhi: The Indian cricket team will tour Bangladesh next month for a one-off Test and three ODIs, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Monday.
The one-off Test will take place between June 10 and 14 at Fatullah while the ODIs will be played on June 18, 21 and 24 in Mirpur. The schedule means the Indian national players will have about two weeks after Indian Premier League 2015 to get ready for international duty, although the players are expected to arrive in Bangladesh by June 7.
Bangladesh are currently playing Pakistan at home and have showcased dominant cricket. After whitewashing the side in the ODIs and the one-off T20I, the hosts fought hard to enforce a draw in the first Test. India would be better off not taking the side lightly as it is currently placed seventh in the ICC Test rankings - two above Bangladesh and three places below Pakistan. Although the scenario improves in ODIs where Team India is ranked second, memories of a tough battle against Bangladesh in the quarter-final of the the World Cup would still be alive.
Full schedule:
June 7: Team India arrives in Bangladesh
June 8 and 9: Practice
June 10-14: 1st Test
June 15, 16 and 17: Practice
June 18: 1st ODI (June 19 is reserve day)
June 20: Practice
June 21: 2nd ODI (June 22 is reserve day)
June 23: Practice
June 24: 3rd ODI (June 25 is reserve day)
