Indian chopper forced to land in Olding, Pakistan, after violating airspace

Do you read what you post? We are discussing how this incident took place not what SOP's are in place after it took place. The debate is whether PAF played any role at all in this affair.

In Pakistan, both the Army and the Airforce have Air defence wings and both have very similar equipment, I cannot believe for a second that the Indian heli that was made to surrender was picked up one and not the other. And once an intruder is picked up by the Air Defence , its standard practice to dispatch jets to that sector so whatever turd tale that you are coming up with does not add up

I must say if naive people like you exist Zardari's will rule forever. Prove me wrong on the following

1. No radar picked up the Helo or identified it as hostile.
2. The Helo landed before any PAF jet was scrambled.

Hi,

It is a very good response when you don't have an offencive aircraft intruding----actually---if there was no response from the air force once they found out what type of aircraft it was---it would still have been better----why would you want to show your response time----.
But I gues paf let a plane fly by just to create some excitement.

I think the PAF just flew a sortie to ensure no more helos follow and a normal reaction for old adversaries. My medal goes to the soldiers and their in-charge in handling the situation so well. Just imagine if he had panicked and shot up the helo? We would be having the PRO's of both sides on an overdrive blaming each other and the minorities in each countries who want war saying we told you so.

Let me put a counter question?........how do you justify yourself?...........

How can the helli land all on its own in hostile territory.. LOL .. it must have been instructed to do so and some co-ordination of the surrender of the Indian heli must have taken place. Recall that an indian Mig-21 , Mig-27 and an Mi-17 were shot down over kargil so the probability of and indian heli coming in over the line of control , going undetected and making a self-decided landing on Paksiatn helipad is next to nill.

Believe what you want ... the sun set over your empire long time back but you still delude yourself so go on keep believing whatever you want.

As per the British Attache in Pakistan, the helicopter landed in poor visibilty and low on fuel on a landing strip they thought was their forward post in India. A soldier in Khakhi came running out and saluted them before realising that it was not a PA / PAF helicopter. Pointed a gun and raised an alarm. A IInd Lt present on the scene was very courteous and reported the same to his Batco while seating them in his personal /official tent. PAF jets were scrambled 45 mins later. Prove me wrong Mr. Army Man.

However there is no denying both the Govt's handled it in a mature way and the kudos in this go to Pakistan.

Regards

Mr. civilian man, i wasn't sitting there watching things unfold. I am relying so far mostly on the same sources you are relying on to get the information in. And let it also be known that just because britisher attache in Pakistan said it, doesn't mean everything he said is 100% accurate. I'll believe what is told to me from the Pakistanis themselves since they were the ones that rectified the issue.

I assure you if you even knew how to spell PA or PAF, you would know interception takes some co-ordination. The Helo landed because the Indians thought it was one of their ALGS and thats a fact you fanboys can't get over.

@Pakdefender,
Let it be that you captured our heli and you kicked us in the rear (when i say you. i am not meaning your army or air force) but you the one man army, navy and air farce, we agree to your post to boost your ego. so can we stop arguing over this petty issue. Its people like you who do not know the professionalism of the armed forces making a mock them at the fullest.

The indians were spared because of the professional attitude of our forces, AN appears to be delusional.

After interrogation - and examination of the aircraft by Army and Air Force experts - story of the indian crew was confirmed, (it was carrying spare parts, for another indian aircraft) - it was refueled and sent back on it's way, it was escorted out of Pakistani airspace by Air Force fighters to the LOC.

Also can confirm that PAF was scrambled - when the Heli was picked up on the Radar network, heli was instructed to land, or otherwise be shot down. AWAC's were reportedly also involved.

More information - helicopter was being tracked from deep within IOK airspace, when it reached within a few kilometers of LOC, AWACS controllers on board - scrambled F7 fighters from - airbase (will not name it on an open forum) - heli was told to land at nearest air force base, a welcoming party was on the ground, apparently the occupants were terrified - (maybe because of their own sides propaganda) - Officers on ground took them into custody, weapons were in the hands of the soldiers but were not pointed at the prisoners.

They were then thoroughly de-briefed, while Army and Air Force officials examined the Heli with a fine tooth comb. After story was verified, situation was resolved.

The source is from within the Armed Forces.

Hello Mr Abu, the man with sources in the forces especially in the Army (not doubting ur credentials as an ex pongo) who can speak to an old course mate still serving about this incident and discredit my version ?

Ps : Gun camera footage exists of the helo leaving Pak territory

Hi,

I guess the SOLDIER deserves a medal and gratitude from both the sides for keeping his cool----and so does the 2nd Lt---I guess we sitting far away have different picture of the opposing forces----but those in the front line have a totally different perspective---.
