Indian BSF stopped firing first. So credit goes to them

.
buddy....drama happens on both sides...and that drama is only for the local audience...the day audience matures drama will stop....Nawaz speech in UN was nothing but a drama to begin with...I mean seriously when will people learn that UN is a non-functioning body and can't do jack about any problems b/w us...

Anyhow i will leave the usual accusations aside...i have a question for pakistani friends here...The usual explanation that some Pakistani guests gives on our channels is that given Pakistan is occupied on her western border it makes little sense for them to escalate border..so in short it is India who escalated and we retaliated...however no-one explained why would India like to escalate border...so can someone please share what's the explanation on Pakistani side about this?

No. It's not much different. There are officers deputed here as well, but the foot soldiers make a huge difference.

Don't make a mistake - BSF is not cowardly or anything. Just tactically not upto the mark and hence suffers unnecessarily high losses.

@JAT BALWAN can help.

Oh yaar.

you know me too well to assume I'd add terms like "cowardly" to any solider in our region.

Bottom line

BSF and PR are kind of similar as I had mentioned previously.

.
No offence to both sides, but with BSF and Rangers face to face, there never was going to be any escalation.

BSF seriously needs better training (and money). Their discipline and battlefield readyness leaves much to be desired. That is when compared to the Army. Can't say about the Rangers.

Also kinda shows how safe Kashmir actually is now.

my father also is in a paramilitary force but not in BSF, and whatever you have said is entirely incorrect. amongst the 5 paramilitary forces of the home ministry, BSF has the most advance equippments and hardware, also its a full fledged infantry when training is concerned. it is the only paramilitary force that has its own artillery corps and aviation corps and its machines dhruv helis and even antonov aircraft to name a few.

A lot in 34 years. Will need separate thread. Please open one. then invite me for virtual cup of chai.
well then please open one, and since you are a fauj historian, then perhaps you will be the most kind in the world to do research and elaborate what really gives reasons to India to violate ceasefire.

Confirmation if it were needed.

Jammu: After nine days of heavy firing and mortar shelling from across the border, the situation de-escalated along the 192-km long International Border in Jammu. But Pakistani forces opened fire on four Indian border out posts in Kathua district of the Jammu and Kashmir.
"There was no cross-border firing during the intervening night of October 9 and 10 along the International Border in Jammu and Samba districts", a BSF spokesman said.

However, there was firing by Pakistan along IB in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district for 20 minutes from 2000 hours to 2020 hours involving four BSF BoPs, the spokesman said. "There was no loss of life or damage", he added

Ok, @FaujHistorian I can safely say I stand corrected. My observation was based on the situation in West Bengal-BD border (as we read in the papers).

It was my mistake to generalize the whole service as lacking in strength. My intent was never to demean, only to enable it to attain higher standards. Now that you mention it, I apologize.

But their pay is much lower than the risk they take. That is beyond dispute.

Hey guys,

the latest from the LOC/IB.

whatever is the reason, Indians stopped first. then Pakistanis stopped.

So the credit goes to Indians for lowering the noice level.

let's hope for peace on the border and peace in the region.

Amen

Whatever man...Its good to know that firing at the border subdued...these are unnecessary as we all know that no one is a full fledged war mode..So what is the point in wasting your time, when we are not in full war mode...
