A fight breaks out on the MTR involving three Indian brothers and a Hong Kong family of eight. The three were later arrested. One man was injured. Photos: Wikipedia, YouTube

Three Indian men have been arrested for assault after fighting with a Hong Kong family of eight on the MTR.

The fight started in a train compartment and continued on to the platform where the three Indians were arrested by the police. Others involved were sent to hospital.

The three men, aged 17, 19 and 24, appeared drunk when they boarded the train at East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Ming Pao Daily reports.

One of them bumped a 19-year-old woman and started harassing her. A quarrel ensued between her group — six men and two women — with the Indian brothers.

A video clip taken by a passenger shows the Indians cursing and banging on the train door.

One of the brothers slapped a male member of the woman’s party. He was subdued by other passengers.

The trio then pleaded with other passengers not to call the police, saying they just had too much to drink.

Officers deployed police dogs in making the arrests on the grounds of physical assault.

A 24-year-old man was injured but refused to be sent to hospital. The eight Hong Kong citizens in his group were aged 22 to 61.

The case is being handled by the Yau Tsim District Crime Investigation Unit.

Solicitor Raymond Tang said hitting back in a fight initiated by others can still make the person liable to a charge of fighting in public with the intent to harm others, according to news website HK01.com.

Tang said the four Hong Kong men involved in the fight could also be arrested for fighting.

He said the best response is to run away from an attacker instead of engaging in a fight.

Paindus going drunk..well done to the Chinese guys for giving them a beating.

lol i say bullshit- 'drunk' is only an excuse. You are fully aware of your actions even when intoxicated. If they were really in a state of incapacitative drunkeness- that is they were not aware of what they were doing- they would'nt even have been able to walk, let alone harass women(drinkers will know what im talking about).

This is just a typical case of 'Indians behaving badly'- as seen all over the world.

This is not the first time South Asian harass people in MRT, not too mention stealing and fighting in other place in HK. Most of the time HK people do not want trouble and lets them bully us, but this time they went too far and got a good beating. Time for them to learn that when they come to our place as refugees, they should be grateful and respect our laws. Our patience is not unlimited, if they can't simply follow the laws then please go back the place they should belong.

Indians are misbehaving in HK. Remind me of when an Indian on this forum posted an article about sexual assault in Hong Kong during the height of New Dehli bus rape and murder case. Just to point out that Chinese also commit sexual assault. But this Indian didn't read the whole article. Otherwise, he won't post an article about Indians harassing girls in Hong Kong.

That old guy was really waiting for the right moment to beat the shit out of them.

Maybe he was around back in 1962 and remembered how it was done.

LOL. For that old man, its like riding the bike all over again.
