Bastion-P, Vietnam version of the Yakhont does not have a range greater than BrahMos.
BrahMos is being tested continuously with new systems and is far more advanced than its brother Bastion-P or its predecessor Yakhont.
Viets didn't go for the BrahMos coz it is costly at around $3 mil per head.

Shaurya doesn't follow a traditional ballistic missile apogee and stays within the atmosphere thus experts have called it a quasi-ballistic or semi-cruise missile.

Brahmos2 is still under development however it has been tested at mach 6.5 in Hyderabad 2 years ago, and it is not the same as Brahmos Block-2.

Deep strike with a range of 290km?

Yeah, the missile has got AI and it has read the manual of MTCR. It knows that even if there is fuel in it, it should fall before reaching 300Km to satisfy MTCR and in cases where it is necessary in war scenario, it will go where it it likes(programmed)!!

Brahmos and yakhont have same range. It's just one is free of MTCR, therefore it
can be openly stated. The other is not, hence the downplay.

MTCR prohibits missiles above 300km !?! thts one of the reason "brahmos" is 290km!


Brahmos costs a lot more than Yakhont because of a lot of new tech. So no wonder smaller countries can't
afford it.

Yakhont is NO match for Brahmos. Brahmos is tested repeatedly sharpening and honing the future Indian cruise missile platform. Its specs have proven time and again as it heads towards becoming a truly universal cruise missile.
The Russians are not using the Brahmos coz of the hull and capacity spec of their warships, which cannot accommodate the Brahmos.

Because of joint venture Indian cannot change the range more then 290kM.
when reporting deep strike may be they meant avoiding anti aircraft missile and improvement in survivebility.

1) Brahmos was made for Indian forces. It is difficult to tell whether India really
tried to export the missile or not because of stupid journalism.

The tests I think are done to evaluate Indian Guidance system and to improve the precision of the missile.

Brahmos can also act as a carrier for other missiles, this missile can carry two or more air to ground missiles and which can target multi targets.

In the Himalayas(Hilly terraine) and urban environment precision is what is needed to hit the target accurately.

Hypersonic Brahmos is in the line which is faster than anything chinese have

Engine of Hypersonic brahmos is ready. The only constrain in the project is the material which can sustain the pressure and temperature at hypersonic speed in atmosphere.

Defeating Cruise Missiles


Brahmos is nothing new.. its just another variant of yakhont... while countries like USA etc are developing mach 10+ CMs..

Also D-21 although a ballistic missile with a mach 10 speed isnt something we can just ignore..

Yakhont is not canister-capable, it's shelf life is very less compared to Brahmos.

Speed of yakhont is 1.8 Mach against 2.8 Mach of Brahmos+Steep dive Capability+ tremendous terminal maneuvers including double S maneuvers.

Pl try to differentiate between the missiles which leaves the atmosphere and which do not. DF is comperable to Agni series which has a speed of over Mach 20. 
Block-3 BrahMos is capable of 550km max range according to trustable sources. But my guess
it won't be publicly stated.

This is already official. It was declared after one test that it was tested for over 300 Miles means for 500 KM. 
And mach 10-25 is its speed in terminal phase..

Does Chinese missile have the Mach 10 speed in Boost Phase?

that except for the P-700, the rest of the Russian fleet has 300Km missiles, same range as the BrahMos. The argument is that anything bigger would require heavier ships and subs because the P-700 is a 7 ton missile and only the Kirov class carries it.
The other explanation is that the Russians currently don't have a requirement for BrahMos because they are not inducting new ships like India is. Russia’s latest inductions will happen only later this year for the new Gorshkov class frigates. The new ships will either be equipped with BrahMos or Klub missiles, depending on the budget. Klubs are cheaper but BrahMos is more capable.

About being downgraded - Those are only thoughts or opinions, no expert has actually compared both the missiles on a practical scale. Don't believe me? read ur own links.

Indian promotional materials indicate guidance improvements to the Brahmos over the original design, and the intent to deploy shipboard, mobile coastal defence and air delivered variants. There has also been speculation about a land attack or dual role variant, requiring a more accurate midcourse navigation system.

At 6,000+ lb launch weight, the Yakhont/Brahmos would be carried by Su-27/30 on a centreline adaptor.
