Last time i heard Mr. Kalashnikov took offence at this copy forcing OFB to rethink and come up with TAR which is still not inducted to Indian Armed Forces.

I understand the need for indigenisation, but was there a need to reinvent the wheel. Instead of INSAS we could have gone for AK 74 or its variants. It could have saved a lot of money and energy.
