Indian Army Major takes colleague for drive, rapes her on deserted road

In what may be termed as a shocking incident in Bengaluru, an Army Major has been booked for allegedly raping his colleague on the old Airport road. A case of rape and assault under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 376 and 323 has been registered against the accused, who was arrested but later granted bail from March 8 to 21.

Reports stated that the incident took place of Feb 4 after the victim returned home from attending a party hosted by a senior colleague.

After the incident, the woman was shocked and traumatised for two days before finally opening up about the incident to her parents, who then rushed to Bengaluru and complained to her senior officials. The victim was then hospitalised into the Command Hospital for treatment.

Reports suggest that the victim was first reluctant to file a police complaint saying that she has complained to her seniors but later filed an FIR at Viveknagar police station. As per the Amry court of enquiry procedure, an FIR is required for it to be initiated.

The case has been transferred to Ulsoor police station where an investigation has been initiated. Police has ssured that legal action will be taken against the Army Major.

Ohh but, but, but not all Indians are like this, just propaganda by foreign media against safe, beautiful India, the West is jealous of India.

So let’s not try to muddy the waters by bringing up an extremely small minority of instances in which the accusations are false.
That's a pretty ironic statement to be in a India bashing thread, statistically a minority doesnt represent the majority, who would have thunk that.
Confirmation bias all around boys:laugh:, carry on.

Had nothing to do with India - it was a general comment about sexual assault statistics.

What happened, google does not work in India??? IT Super Power India..
I think you've misunderstood, no one was denying the incident, simply the barrage of negative posts and a new thread without so much as a link to a source. It took another member to search for it and post it, isn't it the OPs responsibility to do that?

EDit:- The links up now in the first post, the perpetrator is a stain on what we stand for. Many of the members may disagree, but the ground reality is far from what sensationalistic media would have you believe.

Until the charge sheet is created and submitted in court its all hot air. Any one can file a case and police by law are required to file it. We should wait for the due process of law to take place.
