The Indian Army has gifted 20 trained horses and 10 dogs to the Bangladesh Army as a goodwill gift.

These horses and dogs have been brought to Bangladesh through the Benapole border.

At 12 noon on Tuesday, Major General NS Rud of the 17th Infantry in Uttar Pradesh, India, formally handed over the horses and dogs to Major General Humayun Kabir of the Bangladesh 55th Infantry at the no man’s land of Petrapole checkpost.

Confirming the matter, Subedar Ashraf Hossain, commander of Benapole ICP Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) camp, said the horses and dogs were first brought to Chashara cantonment in Kolkata from Uttar Pradesh cantonment in India.

Later, the dogs and horses were handed over to the Bangladesh Army from Petrapole Border Security Force (BSF) camp at around 12pm on Tuesday after completing all formalities.

While accepting 20 horses and 10 dogs donated by the Indian Army, Major General Humayun Kabir of the Bangladesh 55th Infantry said that the Indian Army will gift 50 trained horses to the Bangladesh Army.

Twenty horses in the first shipment arrived on Tuesday. The rest will arrive by December this year.

The trained dogs provided by the Indian Army are capable of identifying drugs and miscreants.

Hopefully these dogs and horses at the border will allow for BGB to keep strict watch at the border. Too many Bongos dying at our hands. I personally feel sorry for them. No body deserves to die for want of cows and drugs.

Guys These are very much loved and respected by army persons. I have seen it 1st hand. I guess bangladeshi army jawans will also love them
They always make you feel good.
BA has stocks of horses and dogs and they know how to treat them. One issue the animals may face is the bad humid weather of Bangladesh though the weather will remain cool for a short few months.

Part of me thinks that it's a good normal gesture.

But keeping Indians in mind and how petty they are, the other part thinks not so good about this gesture.

Reasons:
- First thing first, petty Indians would call it by some fancy name - Dog/Horse Diplomacy etc and will keep on bragging about it to the point where Bangladeshis would start to get irritated.
- Second, anytime in near or distance future, Indians will make sure to remind/mock Bangladeshis how their country recieves even dogs/horses from India.
- Third, a fancy/erotic bollywood movie about it down the road with some stupid story about superior dogs/horses gifted by mother India with some twerking and stupid dance moves here and there.

India is burdening Bangladesh with these expensive gifts which require expensive and expansive maintenance.

This is why Yaks and Pigeons are never gifted on state level.
