Srinagar: An Army major on Monday was shot dead late at night allegedly by a subordinate soldier after a dispute at a post near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army Major was shot dead by his subordinate, who used his AK-47 rifle, after his phone was confiscated by the officer during a surprise check at a post in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, a media report said today.
According to the police, Major Shikhar Thapa of 8 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), posted at Buchar post in Uri sector, was allegedly shot when he reprimanded Naik Kathiresan G for using his mobile phone on duty in a ‘sensitive area’.
