Sorry dear PAD-1 & AAD-1 will complete test phase around 2011 - 2012. and phase -II complete at 2015.

After the third test in early 2009, plans called for a test of the endo and exo together in an integrated mode later in 2009. DRDO said the first phase of the system would be developed by 2011. If the tests prove successful, the DRDO will go ahead with the deployment of the BMD by 2015.

To tackle missiles with a striking range of over 6,000 km, hypersonic interceptor missiles will have to be developed for the phase 2 of the defence program. Plans are also afoot to have space-based surveillance systems to ensure a hostile threat can be detected even earlier than the present long-range tracking radars (LRTRs) used in the BMD system.

Plzzzz all of the guys who think Patriot is a liquid-fueled missile, read about the Patriot and change your views about it and also read about what liquid fueled missiles are and what solid liquid missiles are, also the pros and cons with it too.

As a starter, here is the appetizer for you guys to further work on.

"The PAC-3 Missile uses a solid propellant rocket motor, aerodynamic controls, attitude control motors (ACMs) and inertial guidance to navigate. The missile flies to an intercept point specified prior to launch by its ground-based fire solution computer, which is embedded in the engagementcontrol station . Target trajectory data can be updated during missile flyout by means of a radio frequency uplink/downlink. Shortly before arrival at the intercept point, the PAC-3 Missile's on board Ka band seeker acquires the target, selects the optimal aim point and terminal guidance is initiated. a 20-50 km range is good enough if the platform is mobile enough..

the guy i quoted wanted akash to have a larger range...i vouched for mobility with a 50 km range as we share borders...a thin no-man's land can be negotiated with ease if you have mobile TELs...where am I wrong?and off-topic?
