Too large and unable to land in any foreward airbase. But it is being used to para-drop supplies and take supplies to supply larger/rear bases before be taken my ALHs/Mi-17s the "last mile".

Can you provide the source? AFAIK the IAF's C-17s have not been deployed in this effort. The first Indian C-17 only arrived in India last year and those pics are of the IAF's first C-17 touching down in their home base HINDON in Delhi.

If we ordered chinook bit earlier then it would be very useful in such condition.

indeed but just be thankfull the MI-17 V5s and C-130Js are in service! Chinooks will be coming soon enough!
