Indian Air Force to replace crashed C-130J medium-lift aircraft

I was referring to how the UAE people are spending 700 million dollars on a single unit of C-17,they could have gone for A-400m & could have got some industrial benefits.but since they have so much money they decided to get the most expensive thing on the market[general rant on how Gulfies waste money]

They don't care about money, they care about political benefits and security, that's what the US mainly offers them and what they also demand from France. When that means they have to buy C17s at high costs, then be it. But most of the C17 exports were political deals, mainly to keep the production line running, which saved a lot of jobs for some time, our deal had basically the same aim. The USAF already bought more than they actually wanted and the government then searched for other customers, but it's simply not necessary or useful for most forces, even with the capabilities. It's either too costly or not capable enough and that's where the A400, AN70, XC-2s or even the Y20 will come to the export market soon, with much more export potential.

It's a shame that we don't have stakes in any of those programs :(
