Indian Air Force claim of shooting down PAF's F-16 & Reality l Case of Mig-21 Bison payload.

On 26th February, 2019, Indian Air Force (IAF) intruded into Pakistan from Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir (LoC) & violated air space. The next day, various Indian politicians, journalists and media organizations started claiming that the Indian air strikes had caused 300+ casualties at Balakot allegedly at a JeM camp on Pakistani side.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was already on high alert given recent statements emanating from Indian government leadership, detected the IAF intrusion, scrambled a CAP and intercepted the IAF strike package. The IAF strike package dropped its payload in haste to make a quick run back to Indian side. PAF pushed IAF back to Indian side when IAF did not take the challenge rather made a quick run. DG ISPR conducted a press briefing and shared pictures of exact points in Balakot where actually Indian Payload was dropped that caused nothing except for destroying several trees & reportedly a crow. Even the foreign media along with many other sources confirmed that Indian claims are false as no damage has been caused by IAF. Indian media continued with propaganda through fake images, which too were rejected and proven fabricated.

Pakistan showed maximum restraint, followed SOPs for ROE in letter & spirit and promised for retaliation which was already conveyed officially. PAF conducted retaliatory strikes by selecting 6 ground targets, locked them but shot an open area nearby to avoid any collateral damage or loss of lives from Indian side. In the meantime, Indian Air Force decided to intercept Pakistani Fighter Jets and respective IAF packages dispatched. I wouldn't go in details about Indian Air Crafts formation but the same included MIG-21, Mirage-2000 & SU-30MKI.

Air battle started, PAF totally controlled the air space with dominating performance and during the fight Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan was shot down in his MIG-21 Bison. IAF initially rejected for any loss but MIG-21 wreckage was recovered from Pakistani side and Abhinandan was capture. Then after for PR stunt, Indian Officials resorted to claim that actually MIG-21 firstly shot down a Pakistani F-16 ad then it was taken down by PAF.

DG ISPR confirmed that no Pakistani F-16 is lost during the fight on 27th February, 2019. Further said that Pakistan will invite neutral/military observers to visit PAF F-16 fleet and all jets are accounted for. It was further explained that two IAF air crafts are shot down by PAF. Indian side, despite being exposed for fabricating the facts in regard to 26th February, 2019 failed strikes; continued with media propaganda by claiming the shooting down of F-16.

Random sources including officials, recorded the footage of IAF MIG-21 which was shot down inside Pakistan and made it public. Indian side then resorted to make another claim of shooting down PAF F-16 by showing own MIG-21 wreckage. Pakistan Defence Forum Community with input of analysts & other members, exposed Indian claims yet again and detailed analysis were posted on the Forum. In the meantime when India was busy into concocted stories, numerous foreign sources evaluated the available footage and refuted Indian claims of shooting down an F-16.

This does not just stop here but Indian side then brought an AMRAAM before the media claiming it to be from wreckage of PAF F-16. Observers find out that a piece of an alleged AMRAAM does not support the claim of shooting down F-16 rather, it reveals that AMRAAM was definitely fired against an Air Craft as it appears to be exploded after reaching to the target. Indian side despite failures to prove anything credible in support of IAF claim of shooting down Pakistani F-16, provided nothing to support the claim & continued with lies. Afterwards, Indian media propaganda taken it to whole new level & made yet another claim with creation of an imaginary PAF Pilot, son of a Pakistani Air Marshall is shot down in PAF-16 but as usual, the same lie was busted again & story proven to be fabricated, misleading & ignorance to the facts.

Indian Defence Minister went on record to claim the same & even relied upon social media pictures/statements. From fake claims of surgical strike in Balakot to downing of F-16, every single claim turned out to be nothing but hoax & fabrication of information in front of Indian populace & to mislead foreign observers.

By the time when India was busy to support its claim of shooting down a Pakistani F-16; Pakistan Defence Forum community was able yet again to share further evidence from existing footage, OSINT & acquired data from the wreckage of IAF MIG-21. According to Indian Air Force Official statement, Wing Commander Abhinandan had shot down Pakistan Air Force F-16. We don't know how he had taken down an F-16 because all four (4) missiles along with gun ammo belonging to Mig-21 have been recovered by Pakistan authorities and as per evidence, none of the AAMs have been fired. Wing Commander said over the Radio "Kill Shot" he probably meant his own Air Craft.

A pictorial analysis are hereby shared with necessary markings for the ease of readers, observers & analysts which clearly proves that IAF MIG-21 Bison was not able to fire a any Armament and all missiles are recovered from the wreckage as it is.

Edit last picture, it says F-16 shot down mig-21 which is incorrect....Our official stance and reality is JF-17 shoot down the intruding Mig-21.

Ok, so can we do a better job with Archer no. 2? In the display of the 4 missiles, Archer no. 2 is on the right most with only the seeker and engine recovered. Presumably this is because, as explained in a later picture, the middle portion is still attached to the burnt wing, but in this picture the engine is there as well. So was the engine only recovered?

This is important because Abhitjit is claiming on twitter that the missing warhead section is proof of missile being fired..

Presumably this is because, as explained in a later picture, the middle portion is still attached to the burnt wing, but in this picture the engine is there as well. So was the engine only recovered?

This is important because Abhitjit is claiming on twitter that the missing warhead section is proof of missile being fired..
