An investigation carried out by the Army to identify the infiltration route of the four terrorists killed in the Uri attack has concluded that a ladder was used near Salamabad nallah, official sources said.

The Army officials said that one of the four, who mounted the brazen attack in Uri, about 102 km from Srinagar, had infiltrated using the gaps along the fence near Salamabad nallah and erected a ladder on the Indian side of the fence, while the other three had a ladder on the other side.

The sources said it was difficult for all the four to infiltrate through the gap used by the first terrorist. Each one of them had been carrying heavy rucksacks filled with ammunition, weapons and eatables. It would have taken them a lot of time to cross the fence and posed a grave risk to their lives as Army teams, which routinely patrol the area, could have spotted them.

After infiltration, the ladder, carried by the first terrorist, was handed over back to two guides — Mohd Kabir Awan and Basharat — who accompanied them up to the LoC, sources said.

The Army is also conducting an investigation in Gohallan and an adjoining village, Jablah, as they suspect the terrorists might have taken shelter there for a day before launching the deadly attack on September 18.

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office summoned India’s deputy high commissioner on Thursday to condemn “unprovoked” firing along the Line of Control (LoC) that violated a 2003 ceasefire and killed one civilian.

Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh met officials to discuss the firing on Wednesday and Thursday, which also wounded two others in Azad Kashmir, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.

“The deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws,” the statement read.

India ‘tightens’ medical visa rules for Pakistanis

India and Pakistan have faced off for decades across the LoC separating Azad Kashmir and held Kashmir.

Sporadic cross-border attacks in past months have frayed the 2003 truce.

Last week, India accused Pakistani forces of killing two soldiers patrolling the LoC and mutilating their bodies.

Pakistan Army denied the allegations and said it had not committed ceasefire violations.

When the LOC's context came, Pakistan always violated international law by the name of India. By doing the honor. But how can it be done in LOC? Indian Army, Border Guard Are the South-Asian Police? Did you give me some money and all my sins were forgiven? Win at LOC

Wrong info.
Defence spokesperson has clarified that while one civilian labourer died, 2 others including a BSF sepoy were injured:
A General Engineering Reserve Force (GREF) labourer was killed while two others including a BSF man injured as Pakistan on Thursday alleged violated the ceasefire by shelling mortars and firing on forward posts along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army retaliated to the ceasefire violations.

“One civil GREF labourer was killed, and one GREF driver injured in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops. One Head Constable of BSF received splinter injury in Krishnagati sector. He is out of danger,” Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
