The question is why are we sleeping? Why our govt didn't do a referendum under un monitoring and get done with liberated parts? Why are we alienating our own people by not giving them representations in Islamabad?
Altering the legal status of any part of the former princely state of Kashmir will probably automatically result in the previous UN resolutions on plebiscite in Kashmir becoming invalid (these resolutions were made based on the legal situation prevalent in J&K at that time). Whilst changing the legal status of GB and AJK would probably negate these UN resolutions yet these are not the only way to gain justice for the people of Kashmir.
The Right of Self-Determination under the UN Charter also provides Pakistan with legal arguments to challenge Indias occupation of Kashmir. Using this right as the primary focus would then allow us to provide GB and Azad Kashmir with full legal status and integration with Pakistan. I support this as well since it is extremely unfair for loyal and proud citizens like the Gilgitis to not have the right to vote in our national elections.
