No surprise with cooperation between Israel and India.

However, I don't understand why Israel would need to lobby the US about it? surely the US is friendly to India and would not object to strong ties between Israel and India.

Or is it all about the US not wanting to alienate Pakistan?

Anyway, I know India is one of the favourite nations of Israelis. So it's all good.

More cooperation is needed on things that impact on people's lives. Allies shouldn't only deal in arms, they should have joint social projects etc too.

I don't hate Jews at all.

In fact I have a lot of sympathy with them, considering that the Jewish people and the Chinese people were the two great victims of the Axis powers during WW2.

And admiration as well, considering how successful they tend to be.

I was joking. I know for a fact that Chinese people in general have zero animosity towards Jews. I was making fun of that statement while suggesting a nice game of Mahjong.

What happens is that some Indian members here tend to project their feelings about Pakistan onto China.

Like when Hu Jintao was stepping down from power recently, the Indian members here automatically assumed it would be a military coup, because that is what happened in Pakistan. (The rumours turned out to be false of course, and the power transition went smoothly).

It doesn't help either that some members here from various nationalities like to wear the Chinese flag while ranting about religious topics, e.g. Jews & Hindus & Atheists and the like. Which is a dead giveaway because most Chinese are non-religious and certainly not fanatics about religion.

There has traditionally been no such thing as anti-Semitism in Eastern cultures in any case. Any small pockets that exist are due to imported ideologies from Europe and other regions.
