India woman saves her daughter from Mugger crocodile. Hits it with a paddle!

.
The fact that the mother could fight it off tells a lot.

LOL!! It was a case of good fortune that the mother was able to save her child. You have any idea how big and heavy crocs are?

You keep refusing to read what I posted. The crocodile that is dangerous in the Sunderbans is the saltwater croc & not the Mugger. These are not simply personal anecdotes, not like I was doing something crazy. The boatmen on the Kali river are not stupid, they specifically point out that the Mugger has not been known to attack humans.

I don't put a lot of faith in people's personal anecdotes. Humans have a tendency to make up things and exaggerate.

Abe yaar, when did I say the salt water crocs are not dangerous? I said the most aggressive and notorious are the salt water ones. READ properly. The second aggressive one is the Indian croc or magar. By no means, not by any stretch of imagination is the magarmach harmless for humans.

And dude, I was the boatman in the Kali river. Now please stop coming up with any further anecdotes. Else I will be happy to share mine where I took selfies with aliens.

Crocodiles, freshwater or saltwater will obviously not hunt humans because humans are not their usual targets. Marine life and other animals that come near lakes/water bodies are the target. Crocodiles are AMBUSH PREDATORS. They will not chase the prey like a cheetah does, they will lie in wait hiding waiting to pounce.

Humans being smart know that to venture into croc country is death notice so they avoid such places. But in rare cases like THIS incident the crocs encounter humans and are known to attack when they get a chance. A crocodile be it saltwater or magarmach is not a street dog that it will shake its tail and run away if you wave your hand at them and shout shooooo......

"The mugger crocodile possesses the size to be a serious threat to humans but are not as aggressive as some other species,

The first part says they posses the size, hence you are proved wrong when you said they are not big. Secondly they are not as aggressive as other species and the other species are the salt water crocodiles.

Saltwater croc are found in India, Australia, Africa etc.

Now I know the reason behind your Quality possts in PDF

LOL! Ha! Thanks Bro.

You have got me thinking regarding another thread I want to post up here.

Err...that was my point. An really aggressive crocodile wouldn't have been stopped by a bat.

True. That holds good for all your posts thus far. They are based only on your opinion. You started with 18 feet muggers and came up with muggers being serial killers in the sunderbans. With no evidence .

. .....The second is this Indian magar, they are known to attack for no rhyme or reason - pure troublemongers....

Muggers/Magar being vulnerable is not a bad thing. Those 18 ft long cretins should be extinct.

Sunderban is notorious for its man-eating tigers but people overlook the real threat - Magarmuch or the dreaded Indian crocodile. The Indian crocodile aka magarmuch is the largest crocdile found second only to the saltwater crocodiles found in Australia. They are known to grow minimum 15 feet in average while some are known to grow more than 18 feet. The thing about salt water crocs and magar is they will attack you if they feel like. They may not be hungry, feel threatened but nor no good reason they will attack you because they can. They are very very aggressive..

Abe yaar, when did I say the salt water crocs are not dangerous? I said the most aggressive and notorious are the salt water ones. READ properly. The second aggressive one is the Indian croc or magar. By no means, not by any stretch of imagination is the magarmach harmless for humans.

The point was with reference to the sunderbans, That's where the Saltwater crocodiles are primarily found, not so much the muggers.

Do you want to go back & read your posts on how aggressive the Muggers are & what lengths they reach & how they will attack without reason......All wild animals are dangerous, you just seemed to act like the Mugger was this creature from hell.

Ha! True. Mind you my mum, even when she was not cooking would go fetch the rolling pin. She said she liked the damage it did. :o:

Usually neither hits you till you are six or seven

After that till you are twelve it is mom's turn

And after you that when you are in your teens ; it is Dad' s turn

When moms hit you ; dads come to save you :-)

But when dads hit you ; moms dont intervene:p:

Vicious attack by a monster
dear diary.. I was sunbathing the other day at my favourite spot when I heard some noise coming from river bank. Being a nosy bast*d, I immediately set off, moving surreptitiously so as to protect myself. I saw something moving underwater, not knowing what to do I immediately caught it in my mouth. I wish I did not let my reflex action get better of me, and before I could investigate further, I received vicious, unprovoked attack on me.
It went on for best of 10 minute, and somehow I managed to escape without life threatening injury.
I forgive the attacker, god be the judge of my action, it certainly forced me to look at life in different way.

Lol. You are an exception if your mum didn't beat you. I got it from mum mostly and dad on "special occasions".
ha ha.. its the opposite... generally I think.

Anyone heard of the "Beast of the Bay of Bengal"? There is said to be a huge crocodile that stalks the waters and is blamed for many disappearances. It frequents the Andaman islands in india, but is rare to sight. Fishermen claim that he is as big as a medium/large boat, estimated to be around 25 feet.
He is rumoured to to be the crocodile that killed American tourist Lauren Failla:

Excellent read bro. Have you seen the film "The Ghost and the Darkness" It's about the notorious maneaters of Tsavo in Kenya. Lots of sub-continent history with these lions. Many of the dead were workers from India and Pakistan.
