India willing to invest at least $20b in Pakistan

Manmohan singh is gone insane  the traitor is willing to do anything that can harm India.

How the hell we gonna benefit from it???

- It will create jobs in pakistan

- It will build infrastructure in pakistan

- It will save pakistan's economy

- It will lead to technology transfer

- It will lead to JVs and partnership with Pakistani industries that will benefit Pakistan

- Then in case of terrorist attack or war like situation we will have to think about the investment in pakistan etc.

All in all its a worst decision to make.

This thread has turned into a troll fest. Mods please do the needful and close it.

Edit: Indians please save it, you are gonna need it and instead of wasting forum bandwidth, try putting some common sense into your PM head so that he can see what all of you internet warriors want him to see.

Given your descriptions i am wondering why the hell western nations invest in India?? Isn't all that true for them also???

Excellent intentions..
This will build good business partnerships and possibly encourage other foreign countries.

As to the venom spitting snakes posting.. may your murderous intentions against human beings fail>
May your thirst for genocide be met with even greater numbers of progressive peace moves.

not to forget that our new found relations can give an epic headache to the west..........they are gonna loose a big market

the bold part is EPIC star news!

What's so funny? Given the current state u guys are in, it is hard to predict which way you would go. Besides, there are plenty of issues that have not been resolved yet. Kashmir, the people wanted in India to whom Pakistan has given sanctuary etc. But yes, if bilateral ties do eventually improve on our terms, and if stability does improve in Pakistan giving rise to a more business-friendly environment, then I certainly do not see any problem in India investing over there.

Very true. A developed Pakistan will be a major asset to India and will be good for the overall development of South Asia. But to get there, they first need to put an end to the militancy over there and create a stable environment to do business in.

I think Pakistan will soon be completely dominated by India if Pakistani businessmen do not invest in proper projects.

Investment from any country is always good but India is already dominating our markets. For example the sale of bollywood cassettes, cd's and dvd's. India is slowly gaining power over us and it will continue to do so.

Of course a few things have affected our own businesses and it is clear that they will be dominated when:
1) Theres no electricity in the country causing great damage to growth and businesses... particularly small businesses.
2) Law and order situation.
3) The fall of Bangladesh in 71 caused huge damage. The richest families in 71 saw all their profits and their companies disappear in East Pakistan. Their investments were reduced to nothing. If that had not happened we would have our billionaires.
4) Our businessmen had to start over new since 1971.

Currently the only thing we can do is focus on creating an export base and giving incentives to businesses that export. This is how South Korea succeeded. A powerful export base can only be built if we solve problems our businesses face.

Not immediately..
The unfortunate perception that misinformed people here have of peace is of group hugs on a rosy flowerbed..which is far from reality.
Peace between India and Pakistan does not mean a stop to being alert and ready..nor the end re-armement.
What it brings is a commitment to understanding the apprehensions of each other and trying to work out a solution..even if that solution means a de-facto détente.
Peace means a simple "Ok, lets agree not to step further.. lets not make grand moves and gestures.. lets start with the little things...lets talk business and see where it goes with that, I promise not to attack you or let an attack on you come from any elements from my soil and expect the same.. if we can make this work for a while.. then lets look into fixing even deeper wounds".

How is this not the best case scenario for Pakistan? The advantage of Indian investment is manifold, the most important being the similarity in culture. With an acute understanding of the bureaucratic, political, and social dynamics of the wider subcontinent, Indian companies are better placed than any foreigners when it comes to investing. The turn around time from investment to real profitability would be far shorter than when western companies come in and get bogged down in the quagmire of red tape and bribes.

There is also a matter of sales & marketing, where the Indian companies will have to only tweak certain messages and products in order to appeal to the Pakistani customer. On an industrial level, Indian companies will again benefit, in the long term, from lower cost labor than will be possible in India over the next decade.

Indian investment in Pakistan is a win-win for both sides. Pakistan desperately needs investment, and from a people who understand the ins and outs of our economic and political system, having dealt with similar barriers and potholes in India.

Economic integration is the fastest route to peace between the nations, as dependence on each other will force governments to stop thinking in terms of zero sum scenarios. Economic vibrancy and interdependence will create a subcontinental block that will hold real sway in world politics and economics...truly, where the global powers of today are born. It will also allow the people of both countries to see the professional and working class side of each country...where they may be surprised to find a mirror image of themselves.

Anybody can invest $20 B $100 B if you can secure a mine. Basically Indians do not have money but after securing these resources through Publicity Stunt and then will look for investors all around the world showing that they got hold of these resources and now the money is secured. These are very old tricks applied in Africa by the European. Now a days Indians are running around with the concept.

PK should better stick to Chinese who has real money.

umm... right.. you are absolutely correct.

I would love to believe you. It's just that this wikipedia page speaks otherwise.

If India can allow Chinese investment in India ( with all the associated risks) than surely Pakistan can do so wrt India. Infact I always wondered why PAKISTAN was blind to the opportunity earlier.

Money has no allegiance to natinality / nations if there is no artficial barrier. It will go where it can grow the most....even north pole if the sitiuation arise..
