this thread is still going??? calm down ladies

on topic: india will not top china anytime soon (on GDP), at the most its growth rate will go above china, but that's primarily because we are still in acceleration phase while chinese economy is decelerating (and for good reasons)

As for US supposedly formenting sino-indian trouble, lets not be so naive. Our relations with china is our responsibility and I have complete faith in GOI that it will foster good relations with china.

another damn India vs China thread...get over it people, these two nations will come to friendly terms and prosper together. We house half the world population, if anything, developed nations should be encouraging better sino-indian ties so we can pull our poor out of poverty.

As for reform in china, let the chinese decide. They know what works best for them

Wake up man instead of blindly supporting Indo-China relations, you must see the recent actions done by China. China is not serious to maintain peace with India at all and due to this continuous border violations are occurring. Check out the news and you'll know that this is China who is issuing separate visa to citizen of Kashmir by saying it is disputed territory. You try once to say that Tibet is not chinese and you'll face a strong response from China. Someone said right - "you can't avoid a war until both sides want peace".

My point is not to say that China has not done a commendable job in providing a better life to its citizen, actually it did; however there is a lot be done to be called a developed nation. I take GDP per capita as a measure of quality of life. China with a paltry GDP per capita of 3744 dollars is way behind US’s GDP per capita of dollars 45,934;however, China’s GDP per capita is better as compared to India’s GDP per capita of 1,134

As regarding the problem China faces as many problems as India does if not more. There is Tibet, Xingang, Taiwan, disputes with India, Japan and Russia, income inequalities, human right violations, and corruption.

If China has problem with its neighbors, India has even bigger problem. At least China resolves all land problems with its neighbors except India, but India resolves no land problem with any its neighbors.

Income inequalities? How can a country like India with 1/3 per capita GDP of China has more billionaires than Japan which has 5 times more GDP per capita than China?

Human rights violation? There has been any death due to starvation in China, but there are still hundreds or thousands of people died of hunger in India every year. Not to mention the fact that 40% malnutrition children in the world are in India.

Corruption? Could you please spare us? India's corruption is so infamous.

The point here is that if all above-mentioned are hampering China's development, it hampers India's development even more.

Do you have reading comprehension problem? I was not comparing China with India, rather looking China in isolation
