IN is becoming the most modern force by far in the three services. IAF has planned itself well and will be a very high-tech force by 2020. I've failed to understand why is Indian army going so slow?

I am sure that India will get 10 of these and may be more in future as well.

I am sure it will be armed with LGBs as well as AShMs of small class or may be some IR missiles too...

. . .
Can we use these in Kashmir to track the militants?

That will be massive overkill! In any case these drones are optimised for Long Range Maritime surveillance.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the small hand-held drones will suffice. Actually, the IA's trained 'Canine warriors' are sufficient to unearth these rats. Every RR unit in J&K has a dog unit attached.

Nobody is using armed version of MQ-4C BAMS right now, not even US. Its a really nice system and has many other important features, there's no need to arm them. ALso i think this particular UAV was meant for surveillance, battlefield communication etc. etc. For that you need to stay for along time in the air and this also reduces the operational cost of the platform. Now if you arm them and when they carry on the strike mission they will end up giving up their location. In short after the strike you will have to bring back the UAV and this is why operational cost of armed UAVs is very expensive especially when you use it against terrorists who don't have good air defence system and that is why US is purchasing armed turboprops for low conflict zones like Afg. and Iraq whose operational cost is also very less.

Yup, just like you can use a sword to shave your beard. Buy why'd you use it anyway?

The unique advantage of HALE UAVs are that, they can stay out of range from enemy shoulder fired SAMs. Don't expect JK militants to have them.

If trolling attempt then good one..

I think it is a UAV which can not carry IR or AShM.. not LGB..
it is only for surveillance
